So I delivered C a little over 1 day ago. While I'm grateful for the love and support of my family and hospital staff, things have been chaotic. (Which is to be expected.)
I let the nurse take her last night because I delivered at 5, family left at 9, I still had the shakes until 9 and labored for 20 hours prior. After a long day today, I thought I would want the help and given time to sleep so I agreed to letting her stay in the nursery again.
I've been awake since she left. I'm finally starting to feel good and have turned Mother Bear. All I want is my family together. DH is across the room, C is across the hall, and my pup is across town. I cannot wait to be discharged tomorrow!
Sorry I'm venting. This hospital bed sucks, my muscles are all knotted up from the shakes and I feel like I've only gotten to hold my daughter when I'm feeding her. I'm ready for family time.
Re: Insomnia/BFing
I've been up with M for every feed tonight. DH has been useless and will not wake up.
I am shattered and I think my incision is infected as all of a sudden it's leaking discharge and it does not smell very pleasant. Looks like a trip to A and E today as my doctors is closed for the NY.
I hope your incision is ok! Take care of it!
Thank you for the well wishes! 11am discharge cannot come soon enough
Also I've done every feeding, diaper change, Etc since Sunday when DH was diagnosed with shingles. Some more three hour stretches would be nice!
I have my PP appointment at 9 am and it's an hour long drive due to traffic. Yet I'm up with LO and she is wide awake. We are comfort nursing and she is being silly too.
Luckily I got some decet sleep prior to this happening, although I wouldn't mind more. She is real cute in her zebra swaddle with her hands pressed to her face(her doing not mine)
Congrats @caramarchi !!!
Frankie-- take care of yourself!
I'm pumping after feeding to supplement at the next feeding because of his weight loss. Doesn't help that he refuses my left breast no matter what I try (same Lc Tuesday and again today? Tomorrow? Whenever Thursday is....). My left breast won't respond to manual or electric pump so I am hand expressing after each session and thankful for the mLs I'm getting.

induction due to HELLP
He's much better now than when we had Dd1. I may have threatened him with "if you fall asleep again I will wake you up in an unpleasant manner." I may have pinched him to get him up tonight.
At least I have the bump to share my woes with.
Frankie- I hope you can be seen today and taken care of!
