Saucers jumpers etc

Just wondering if you still use this stuff? Sometimes M will go in the jumperoo but it's only for a few min. The saucer is just a place to out her when I need to put the tv on. But I can't wait to get that thing back in my sisters attic. What, if any thing , do you use the occupy your little on ?

Re: Saucers jumpers etc

  • If I need to keep her contained and entertained I get out her pack and play and give her a few toys to keep her interest but it doesn't last long. As for her exersaucer and such she plays with the toys on it but doesn't sit in the seat anymore.

  • V was out of the jumper in August. He hit the weight limit pretty quickly.

When he did use it, it was usually in the morning while I was getting ready.

I was happy to get that thing packed away!

  • @jg1011 I hear you!! How did you keep V entertained all this time off?
  • We haven't used the saucer in a long time and we never had a jumper. K has a lot of music toys (a guitar, drums, piano x2, and mixin' table). These are what keeps her entertained. She also loves to be read books or "read" them herself. She will sit on her couch and read her books.

  • @Shella923 we were skiing in Vermont from 26th to 30th. Brought some if his new toys with us so he was easily entertained between those, books, and being out in snow. Yesterday we opened one of his new bigger toys.. A Fisher Price Wheelies amusement park thing. He played fir hours with those cars going around that loop!

  • We never had a jumperoo or saucer at home.  We had a Bright Starts table with a seat that rotated around.  We were able to take the seat off and DD still plays with the activity table some times.  She loves playing with books, princess castle, farm set, and random dolls.  I see a kitchen set in our new future.

  • Got the 'saucer style' contraption packed away months ago.
N has just explored around the house.

He only watches TV at MIL's house once a week, or with daddy when I'm at the office.

He empties my cupboard of mixing bowls, cereal, finds something to put in the bowls (other toys). Plays with the cat. Is figuring out how to make everything work the way mommy and daddy do.
  • We still have ours out, but she hardly uses it.  When she's in it, she loves it for 5 minutes and then is done.

It might go away when I pack up all the christmas stuff.

  • Don't use any of that stuff anymore. The last few times I've picked O up from DC they have had her and a few other toddlers in one and I'm going to say something to them about it today. She's too damn old for it and it pisses me off that they use it as a babysitter so that one of the ladies can be cleaning and then leave early. I'm paying them to watch my child, not put her in an exersaucer. I understand the occasional need for one but they are using it every day.

  • Wow @amberea14 that's annoying!! M likes the jumper once in a while but I already took pics to sell it. Glad I bought it used. The saucer is going back in my sisters attic. Let me know what they say.
  • @shella923 will do. Yea, I think we used the thing for like a month before she hated it. I kept it sitting out in the living room for a long time because she liked to play with it without actually being in it, but it's really nice to have that space back now!

  • @amberea14 yes the space!!! Damn contraptions ! When I first had the baby I wanted everything new. Now I realize it's such a waste. You use it and then what? Am holding on to stuff ( except the jumper) for five years and if I don't have another one and SIL doesn't take ..garage sale it is !
  • @beane4018 I wish something like that would work, but I've already walked in and said (truly out of surprise the first time) "what are you doing in there!?" but they don't pay attention. The 2 women in there when I pick her up barely speak English (another rant for another day). I picked her up early today and she wasn't in there.

I called today to talk to the assistant director, but I also had a question about her naps for the lead teacher and she didn't hand the phone back to her. Grr. Also didn't see her when I picked up. I am going to tell them though. I just need to tell one of the directors so it'll actually stop happening.
