Disappointing pregnancy reveal

So I guess everyone at my work, including most of our friends now know about the pregnancy and not because I wanted them too. Before Christmas I confided in a judge in private that I was having a medical procedure and would be out off office in the late summer/fall. I had to do this because he was about to set a trial date in one of my big cases in the fall (I'm a lawyer). Well I have been on vacation and yesterday my supervisor covered one of my cases in front of that same judge, who I guess assumed by me saying medical procedure that I was pregnant, and in public on the record announced it in the courtroom because they were setting dates for another trial. So he basically told my supervisor before I did. There was another colleague/friend in the courtroom and she went back to the office and told Everyone! She even called one of my best friends who was on vacation to tell her. Thank god I had already told her. I am just so sad and pissed about it. First of all, I haven't even been to the doctor yet and I just pray nothing bad happens. Also, it is my news to share! Pregnancy reveals are one of those exciting things that we all look forward to and now I feel like it's basically been stolen from me. I know the judge is the one who blew it but I am also really added at my friend. That is such a huge deal and she really didn't have to go tell the world about it. She didn't even call me for fucks sake! Thanks for reading, I just had to vent.

Wow, that really sucks. It's so frustrating when you work in a law office and think things will be kept confidential (because most topics are) and find out that this is not one of them. I can't believe the Judge announced something like that on record, that is kind of mortifying. And you'd think people at the office would keep it to themselves - if you haven't said anything yet to them, it's obviously for a reason. Sorry this happened to you.

I'm so sorry, hun. That is really crappy of him. It isn't his announcement to make, and to assume that "medical procedure" automatically means pregnancy is a pretty big stretch to make.

This is one of the reasons I'm dreading going back to work because I'm afraid that people are gonna figure it out before I'm ready to tell the entire flight. I told my supervisor and flight chief while I was on break because they needed to know, but I'm not making a formal announcement until after my first U/S.

Ugh, I'm sorry, that sucks.

I was at a NYE party last night and had some spotting (for the first time this pregnancy). I was freaked out and a bit upset about it and decided to go home early. So of course some of my friends who know I'm pregnant decide to tell a few other people at the party who DON'T know yet that I'm leaving because of the pregnancy. Like, how hard is it to just say "she doesn't feel well". People have no sense of privacy.

I'm a prosecutor and I love my job. I like being in court all the time.
Thanks for all the support ladies. Makes me feel better that I'm not overreacting. Also @seventhumbs hope the spotting is getting better and sorry about your friend too. Seriously I can't believe the gal of some people!
