clomid mommas

for those of you who are STM and had to use infertility medications like Clomid, just wondering how long it took to conceive #2 compared to #1??  we would like to start TTC but I would most likely have to start infertility meds again.  I am still BF though so can not start meds now.  Hoping it takes less time to conceive #2! Anyone not have to use fertility meds the second time around??

Re: clomid mommas

  • Following! It's hard to know when to start TTC again when it took so long the first time.

  • My close friend was on Clomid for the first.  Started trying for a second one.  Went through three cycles before getting pregnant.  Had a MC at 5 weeks, but got pregnant at the next cycle.  Hope that helps.

  • No personal experience here but one of my close friends got pregnant without fertility meds with her 2nd LO.

  • I don't ovulate or menstruate without meds so I'm interested to see if I get a PP period.

  • I'm expecting to have to go back to my RE for baby #2, having done IVF for this baby. Keep in mind that clomid is meant to help you ovulate. Clomid worked for us, as in I successfully ovulated 5 cycle using it, though I didn't get pregnant any of those times. Without having a cycle it's hard to track ovulation.

I was diagnosed unexplained infertility, charted my temperature for 2.5 years, was on metformin for 1 year though I don't have pcos. Nothing but IVF worked for us. I do hope that all of our bodies reset and we don't have to use meds again, but something tells me that I'm not going to be one if the lucky ones.

  • Yeeaa I have a feeling I'm going to have to go back on meds..which isn't that big of a deal but it is all of the follow up that comes w it. Plus I'm planning to bf for atleast a year. So we want to ttc soon but likely it will take a while :(
