Love it. I'm 30 and pregnant with LO2, which is only 'young' in the northeast, but man am I excited for the cruise in my early 50s. Totally still young enough to have a blast and look fabulous in a bikini.
Hmmm, I've never really considered myself a "young" parent, more in the middle I suppose. However, we started at 26 and this last (3rd) will be born when I'm 31. I guess I'll be enjoying my older children at fifty on a cruise though:)

I saw the subject line "young parents" and thought "oh that's me I should open this thread."
Then I realized I'm 30. Sometimes I forget I am not in my early 20s anymore.
Haha! I do the same thing. I will be 29 in 2 weeks, but I tend to think I'm way younger most of the time. The high school delivery boys who work at the same store as me call me "ma'am" now and "Mrs. Lauren". At first I was like wtf?! I am not that much older than you!! But then I realized that I am.. Oh I really really am.
Some really cute, really old lady said to me " oh I bet your a great big sister!" I told her "I am the best ever" I thought if I told her I was DDs mom she would have a heart attack. Haha I was also told by my high school "friends" that I was brave and they would have gotten an abortion. I just nodded.
I`m 23... ANd got some rude comment from my ex-coworkers. I`m in my last year of masters and one lady asked me " couldn`t you just wait until wou finished you masters" 8-| It`s my choice lady!
I am/was sort of a young parent I suppose (23 when I had DD, 25 with this one), but I've actually never gotten any of those! Well, okay, I did get the "How old are you?! :-?" from some middle-aged guy when I was pregnant with DD. He thought I was in high school. :-??

I got a couple of those.. I don't think I'm a young parent anymore since I'm 27 with this one, but I was one with DS.. I was 20 when I had him.. I still look younger than my age, and I wear it proud! Can't wait til I'm on a cruise with my adult children and mistaken for their hot older sister! Lol
What is considered young? I'm 24 and originally I was thinking "I'm a normal child bearing age..." But with what so many people have said to me, I feel like everyone is waiting til their thirties or something

I'm just waiting for someone to say something to me about being pregnant. I'm 22 and DH is 24. We went to the bank awhile ago (before I was showing) and the lady helping us was surprised that we were married because we looked like teenagers. She thought it was hilarious. But my face -
I embrace being young, married, and pregnant. I think the hardest part is just not having any close friends who have kids to relate to.

My SIL is 22 and pregnant with her second. Her husband is 26 and they've been married a year and a half, married for both pregnancies. She said a hard part was being at different stages in life than her friends, but then I got KO!!! haha so now we're so frikken excited! (We were BFFs and I met my SO, her BIL, at her wedding) I keep joking that we're stuck together for life :]

I had DD when I was 20, DS when I was 22 and this one at 25. People make snotty comments all the time, but I think age is not a factor in being a good mom. I know lots of women in their early 40s that are terrible mothers, and I also know some young mothers who neglect their children and pass them off to their parents. I know young and not so young mothers that are terrific parents.
I however am looking forward to being 45 when my kids are all over 20, and I have lots of time to spend with DH

I think as long as your child is well taken care of then people shouldn't judge but that doesn't stop anyone. I embrace my baby face and love the fact that I have a nice long life with my babies:)
Yes, yes, yes!! The financial security one thoigh I always think, "what, young people can't be financially secure?" DH and I constantly get surprised reactions at our credit scores and/or credit approvals (when buying cars, furniture, homes, etc) and it really gets old.
I've never been asked if the father is still around but pretty much the rest of them I've heard. I LOVE when people ask me "don't you know how that happens" That one is probably my favorite. Thanks, asshole. Yes, I am quite aware what causes this. Why is my family planning any of your damn business?? (Although admittedly we are 2 for 3 getting KU on some form of birth control)

I had one loan officer say to me that he was surprised I was not delinquent on my student loans he just assumed I was. Yeah thanks asshat.

I think I hear it all twice as much since DS is still so young too. I get a lot of "oh, you weren't trying for another so soon, were you?" If we stop with these two I will be 44 when the youngest graduates high school, which I think is pretty perfect. I will likely be around 50 for my first grandbaby and still plenty young to enjoy them and possibly see great grandchildren. Who wouldn't want that? My ILs are actually the most guilty of it because they were 32 when DH was born and they just think we're "too young" to have a mortgage and be raising two kids. They told us when we got married that they thought we should wait awhile and make sure things worked out before making any big decisions. Yep, my ILs love me.
I guess I could be considered a young mom, but to me I feel like I'm getting up there, especially for a FTM! My mom was pregnant with me at the age I am now, and I'm her third kid. And over Thanksgiving my Oma was saying she felt old to be pregnant at 23 with her last kid! :-O I was like, "Oma! I'm 25 with my first!" But I guess that's a generational thing.

I really wanted to be a young mom but infertility messed that up for me ( Hats off to all the young moms out there. I'll be 31 when the twins are born. I guess the one benefit is that we are WAY more financially secure than we were when we started trying.
Hahaha, I'm really wondering what constitutes "young" these days, because it is so geographically dependent. We are in New England and I'm the youngest parent-to-be I know and I'm 28. In fact, people are kinda surprised that we're having kids already, so most of these apply.
I've always said I wanted to have my kids before I was 30, which won't happen if we go for 3 (unless twins are somehow involved) but that seems like crazy talk in my social group. My friends who have/are having kids are all at least in their early 30s.
I am 24 which i dont consider a "young" parent but i get all these comments because i am not a "married" parent. Some peoples nerves! this is funny though

YES my mom was on her second kid by now! I think it for sure is a generational thing.
I'm actually beating my mom in the kid department. She married at 27 had me at 28 and brother at 31. I got married at 23 having my first at 25 and hopefully number 2 at 27(ish)

My mom & I both had our first three weeks before our 28th birthdays. Only difference is she tried for 6 years and I was only 2, but that's the benefit of modern medicine for you.
I wanted to start earlier having kids but it took me a while to pull my head out of my ass and pick a decent guy to make a human being with. I just turned 28. The nicest part is that we both do have decent jobs and bought a house 2 years ago that will be perfect to start a family in. At least there's that.
I am a young mom. I'll be 38 turning 39 when this LO turns 18. I'm 20 now and DF is 24. We are young and this was unexpected, but we are stable and extremely happy. I guess "young" is a term used loosely because some people think 26 is young and others don't. It all depends on perspective I suppose.
