Hi ladies. Wondering if anyone has read "The Impatient Woman's Guide to Getting Pregnant" ? And if so, thoughts/opinions, worth reading or no?
Alternately, any recommendations for other infertility-related books, especially geared towards 'older women' ttc or something with good diet/supplement info.
Awesome website or blog recs (instead of books) would also be welcome. Thanks in advance.

I am currently reading "A Few Good Eggs" by Julie Vargo and Maureen Regan. it is by 2 women who experienced if issues in their 30s. it is written with humor and advice based off of personal experience and medical research. Very good read!

I read the Impatient Woman's Guide and unfortunately I am terrible about remembering books! I remember it being ok, but mostly stuff you probably already know if you have read anything about infertility.
I read it and honestly if you are on this board you know everything that is in the book. I don't think its worth the time and I wouldn't bother but that is my personal opinion.
Me 29 DH 30 Unexplained IF TTC since wedding May 2012. IUI #1 11/5/13-BFN. IUI #2 12/5/13-BFN. IUI #3-12/30/14. All three with Femara CD 3-7 and Ovidrel trigger. +HPT 1/13/14 First +ever!!! Beta #1 195 Beta #2 1/15-533. Ultrasound on 2/4 showed one bean. EDD 9/22/14. Team Green turned Team Blue-Baby Conner arrived on 9/19/14.
I've read
MAKING BABIES-a three month program, (I obviously didn't get pregnant in three months) lol
FERTILITY & CONCEPTION- it was "so-so"
I have this other one that gives case studies and medical journal articles, and it's western vs eastern medicine, it's a big book, but for the life of me I can't remember the title (it's in a box somewhere, we just moved) lol . . But that ones my favorite. , bc it will give some case studies like "jean and Carl were trying for 3 years with an obgyn, and they couldn't figure our why DH SA's were abnormal, they get the referral to the RE, and the RE asks him if he uses hot tubs. YES-every night apparently! Lol they had to take a 2 month hot tub break and got pregnant right away" I wish it was that easy for us. Lol. .

Lurker here, I just read "the infertility cure" by randine Lewis. It's focused on traditional chinese medicine with a lot of info on nutrition/diet and lifestyle changes. It was very interesting and I would recommend it if you have an open mind
TTC #2 since 2011 (took 1.5 years to conceive spontaneously after multiple failed clomid cycles and 1 failed clomid +IUI)
Me- PCOS, borderline hypothyroid
Him- low concentration/count
Feb 2014- started acupuncture
Feb 2014- BFP
March 2014- m/c @ 5 weeks
May 2014- HSG, all clear, started Synthroid, Femara 5mg CD 3-7 + trigger + TI= BFN
I just started reading "Unsung Lullabies" (Understanding and coping with Infertility) and really like it so far. It is written by 3 fertility therapists who all struggled with IF themselves. They incorporate their own stories throughout the book and give comfort and suggestion on how to deal with the emotional side.

I second "The Infertilty Cure." She is a MD, but discusses the benefits of Chinese Medcine or using a hybrid of the two. I agree you must have an open mind and be willing to make diet and lifestyle changes.

Diagnosed anovulatory, HSG clear. Slight MFI- borderline count, but excellent motility and morphology
Nov. 12- Feb.13 Gonal F + Ovidrel + IUI = BFN

June 13 Gonal F+ Pregnyl +IUI = BFN Stopped treatment with RE due to side effects from drugs and told we needed IVF.
Oct. 13 started Accupuncture and Chinese herbs- being monitored by RE. Getting better response- e2 and follie size.

Thanks for the ideas...after my initial post I started reading about "The Infertility Cure" and it sounds like this might be the book for me. I already see an acupuncturist who focuses on fertility, so I'm definitely open to these ideas/approaches. Glad to see some of you recommend it also.

DH & I just read "What He Can Expect When She's Not Expecting" and it was fabulous! It is written from a husband's point of view and basically a guide book for how husbands can support their wives through IF. It was a fast, easy read. His writing style is excellent, I felt like we were sitting on the couch drinking a beer with him. Very casual, and every word was right on IMHO.
RunCC37 -- I saw this and was considering suggesting it to DH...he's not really a 'reader' but he did start DL'ing dad books as soon as got our first BFP.

@jszy10, my husband is so far from being a 'reader' but he still read the book (without me nagging him!!!). I am not a huge reader myself, but read the whole thing in one night. It really is written perfectly for "real people" going through IF.
