I'm sure there's some of us who went out to celebrate right? We were not one of them...we went out to dinner at 5:30 just so we could be home relatively close to S's bedtime...and we were in bed by 10:30.
We stayed at my in laws and watched New Year's Eve countdown. Then 3 mins to 12 we went outside and waited until midnight then dh and I kissed lol we got in bed about 12:30
Madison slept the whole time.
BFP#1- April 24th. M/c-April 30th. BFP#2-September 11th. EDD: May 25th.
It's a girl!!! (:
Madison arrived on May 19th at 6:35 am (:
My mom babysat so DH and I could go out on the town..."out" being to the bar around the corner for dinner and drinks. It snowed like crazy so nobody else was out, and we ended up chatting about babies with the bartenders until midnight. C really enjoyed playing with our noisemakers when he got up this morning, though!
We decided to stay in and I made us a nice dinner. Ds was super clingy and fussy. Once I got him down I had a couple glasses of wine. Dh and I were in bed by 11:30. Ds gave us a great nights sleep, he woke at 6:30 for bottle and back down till 10!!!
We stayed home and had a friend couple over. Just sat around watching youtube videos/played yatzee and then had wine bubbly at midnight. Both LO's were down at regular bedtime though Alexander woke up 2x during the night. However, they both let us sleep in till about 930 this morning.
so basically what I'm hearing is that everyone who went out/stayed up till midnight or later had babies who didn't get up at 5:30 like mine...no wonder I passed out so early. I'm jealous!
We had a few snacks and watched the ball drop and then went to bed. DD1 took a 3 hour nap in the early evening so she could stay up for "the party". LO went to bed at 830, woke at 1205 to eat and again at 1 am thanks to fireworks. Again at 6 am to eat and then slept till 830. I should have gone to bed with her at 830!
We had a couple couples over that have kids our kids ages and once we put them to bed we sat around and drank and chatted. One guy is a cop so the highlight of the night was to periodically check the breathalizer. Think we all crashed about 1 and my littles slept til about 7ish like they do on the weekends! Yeah for "rest time" now!
We had a good evening at home. Most of my family was away so it was fairly quiet and relaxing. My sons were home which I loved. A good way to start the year.
We go to H's uncle's house with the rest of his family. We order out and play games. LO slept from 930-11 pm. And would NOT go back to sleep. So LO rang in the New Year with everyone. Despite being up past his bedtime and tired he was a good boy.

We ordered Chinese, drank a few glasses of jack and ginger , had ice cream sundaes, popped some bubbly and made it till 12 to watch the ball drop then crashed soon after. Damn fireworks woke up A though.
We rented a movie and drank wine and champagne. We stayed up until 1am, mostly because ds woke up for his first feeding at 12:45. We paused the movie at 11 to watch NYC's countdown since the local one sucks and at midnight we took a picture of ourselves kissing and William via the monitor as our first family photo of 2014, lol.
We celebrated Christmas with H's family. His sis always flies in after the 25th. Then we had my parents and some friends over to the in laws house to celebrate new years. I drank and danced and stayed up till 2. I've been paying for it all day...
I was asleep at 10:30. DH woke me up to tell me about the aggie game. DS was up at 4 to eat then slept till 6:30. So jealous of you all with babies sleeping till 9!!

We had friends over and made dinner. S was up a little later but still up at 6 this morning. Sigh. We went to bed about 11 when our friends left to get their 10 month old to bed
Well R has been a epically bad sleeper so I didn't want to go out. My parents came over for dinner and I made a prime rib. I don't like to cook within the metal meat thermometer in it but I guess my mom put it in part way through while I was getting R down. I went to take it out when it was done, not knowing it was hot, and burnt the sh*t out of my hand. So I took the rest of my Percocets left from my c-section and drank from the champagne bottle until the pain stopped. I made it to midnight though!
H and I had a fondue at home and watched tv. I wanted to stay up until at least 12 but when I went to feed LO around 11 I came back to H snoring away on the couch...
Since DD is still recovering from RSV we decided to stay in. She was in her crib soundly asleep by 8. We ordered in, enjoyed some adult beverages and stayed up to watch the ball drop till about 12:30. Honestly, with the exception of DD being sick...I thought it was a great way to ring in this New Year. Just the 3 of us :-)

C has been getting up super early because of his cold, so I was up at 4:30am with him. But, my mom woke up too, snatched him from me, and told me to go back to bed.
My mom is awesome. I may not let her go back home!

can you send her my way? I need a mom that wakes up and takes my baby away at 4:30 so I can go back to sleep...or a husband who does that...
We went out and I drank wayyyy too much thank goodness DH didn't and got up with DD. I am a light weight 4 drinks and I didn't feel so great in the morning! "> I felt like a terrible mother.

I embraced the MIL's visit and we had a crab leg feast at home. We were in bed by 9:00. The next day we went to go watch the Polar Bear party down at our local beach. Every new years day the have an organized winter beach swim for kids and adults. Its good fun.
Re: how did you celebrate the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014?
