I am completely stir crazy from being cooped up in the house. Lo isn't even 2 weeks old but I feel like i need to get out of the house. Not seeing daylight is contributing to me being depressed I think. Pediatrician said its fine to take lo out just don't let people touch her but I feel horribly guilty with her being so small. Are any of you taking lo out anywhere yet and if so where?
He goes out all the time. Such a party animal! He's been to target, costco, Walmart, in laws, my parents, a BBQ joint and a Mexican restaurant (hold the margarita). His next adventures will be an nhl game and a work convention. Friends and dad will watch him while I teach at the convention. Strict no touching rules. For the baby as well.
I have been taking my LO every where. DH took her to the hospital to see me a week after she was born. We have been going to the mall to get me walking. We have been to the my mothers house, MIL house, grocery store, target, even to my work to show her off and she was 2 weeks old then going into a day care. She has been fine and usually sleeps through everything.
We've been everywhere, including Busch gardens. Sea world, the mall, target, wal-mart, publix, softball fields, restaurants, I have 3 older kids so life can't stop.
We ran to Target quick before DD's 2 week check up and once to my parents' house for Christmas Eve but that's it. There is a horrible stomach bug wreaking havoc in our area so I am terrified that one of us will get it and bring it into the house. I feel bad because DS is going stir crazy cooped up in the house but I just don't want to risk it.

So far she's only been to the pedi's office and to my mother's house. It's really cold here, so I don't want to take her outside much. I barely want to get dressed myself!
We brought LO out at a week old...I just put a blanket over the stroller and car seat so no one touches her and I don't go to super crowded places. She has been fine...and she has been out quite a bit. There is no way I could stay inside for a month or more...I would go crazy
We've only been to the pedi so far but he's not even a week old yet. I have no problems going out, especially because I have an almost 2 year old with a lot of energy, but it's been -20 outside for the past week. I'd rather not leave the house.
LO has been to stores, the hospital, restaurants, and accidentally to a Christmas party (we were invited over but not told it was a party) and he's great!
We just went to the mall yesterday and we did grocery shopping in Monday. Between DH getting over a stomach bug and now having shingles, I figure our house is more dangerous to him than the public...
My LO is almost 3 weeks and we've taken her to stores and restaurants in addition to her dr appointments. We keep her in her car seat with the car seat blanket/canopy down. No one has gotten too close.
We've been to the mall, local shops, cafes, beach, lots of walks. He's always in his bassinet in the stroller with the sun/fly screen pulled down so no one would be able to touch him
She's been out. I think when we took her out Christmas shopping (3wks old), people barely refrained from raising their brows. However, we have 3 other children, and J fits in (fortunately/ unfortunately?) with us, not the other way around. If she hasn't been out it's primarily because the older kids are on vacation and I have a choice to stay home or not. Everyone has their own comfort levels with this sort of thing, but I would go crazy if I stayed in for any length of time. I have two summer babies- I loved being able to just go for walk whenever. I don't like winter. But seriously, I need to get over myself... It HAS been 15 yrs! Lol
He's been out to church, target, pedi office, LC office, restaurants, and other peoples houses for Christmas. It's hard taking him places because Minnesota is so damn cold right now. We mostly stay inside these days due to dad being back at work and the temp being so low. I worry about car trouble or an accident and I'd be stranded alone with him.
Completely guilty here but in LO's 2 weeks if life she 's been to the doctor, a couple stores, restaurants, and...the beach! (Last one wrapped up in stroller in Florida) We don't let strangers touch her and keep her covered like pedi recommends. 6 weeks is a long time, I'd go crazy if I couldn't get out. If you take certain precautions I think your fine
It's safe and good for you and LO to get some fresh air! Take safety precautions, keep baby covered and don't let any strangers touch her! We started with neighborhood walks after 1 week, then we moved to quick restaurant visits at 2 weeks. No one has bothered us or crossed any inappropriate boundaries. Good luck!
We've visited a few family members, both doctors' offices, a few walks and a restaurant. We live in a major suburban shopping district and I've had anxiety attacks in the past shopping on my own during December. I'm ready for a trip to the mall as soon as the streets are cleared of the snow!
