I recently found out I am pregnant....yesterday...and I was searching for an OB in my area. Has anyone given birth at St. Mary's (as it is so close to my home)? What was your experience? If not, does anyone have suggestions of good OB's in the area?

Re: OB in Livonia/Plymouth area??
Congratulations!
I see Dr. Sandra Neal in Livonia. There is also Dr. M H Neal (her father) and Dr. Sabbagh. They deliver out of St. Mary's.
I thought St. Mary's was a nice hospital. They have the mother/baby units where you can deliver your baby right in the room and your baby never leaves your side. The nurses were great too!
The practice is located on Farmington off of Plymouth Rd in the Orangelawn Professional building. The number is 734-422-9300.
Good Luck!

Congrats!!
I go to Metro Partners in Women's Health. They are in Novi - Beck Rd. and Grand River.
They deliver out of Providence and the new Providence Park Hospitals.
They are AWESOME. There are both OB's and midwives to see. I have seen pretty much everyone in there and have nothing but great things to report. I have had 2 babies with them.
I had midwives for both of my last deliveries( one by choice and the other because she came so quickly and the Dr. couldn't get to me in time) and usually see Dr. Lacoste and LOVE her.
There are a few other ladies on the boards that use them too.

I was in LOVE with my Dr when I lived in Livonia. She is in Canton

The Dr I saw was Dr Eaton-McFarland. The whole office was great. The reception...the nurses...everyone. I am moving back to Detroit and living in Royal Oak and was seriously considering communuting to Canton just to see her.
I see the doctors at the Westside OB/GYN. There are 5 doctors in the practice and I really like all of them. They have an office in Livonia and one in Canton. I have seen them for the past few years and they will be delivering my little one this coming Feb. at St. Mary. I would highly recommend them and St. Mary Mercy Hospital. My experience with St. Mary's has been very positive as well. Early in my pregnancy I had a little trouble and they sent me over to the ER there and I would say that it was probably one of my best experience at and ER. Also, I have done all of my ultrasounds at St. Mary and the techs are wonderful.?

I love my Dr and he delivers at St Mary's and Huron Valley Sinai. I choose to go to Huron Valley over St. Mary's even though St. Mary's is closer, personal preference. But St. Mary's is nice also.
Anyway my Dr is Dr. Robert Dock at Professional OB/GYN. They have an office in livonia on Middlebelt between 7 and 8 mile and an office in waterford. The office # is 248-476-4900.
1st: Congrats!!!!
I'm w/lilbride06, I went to Dr. Neal's office.
I LOVED my St. Mary's experience, and look forward to going there again when I have baby #2. When we toured the place some of the other couples had looked at other hospitals and it was amazing how the other places compared. The couples said the other places were half the size, St. Mary's was the biggest (I don't know what other hospitals they were). But I love the room size, and you give birth and recover in the same room, so no changing to a million rooms. The nurses were great. The night nurse even took Kaitlyn so we could get some sleep during the night and they were very helpfull when we had questions.
Hello. Just wondering if you ended up going to Dr. Neal/Dr. Sabbagh? I go to Dr. Sabbagh based on my regular doctor's request. I'm really glad to hear all the great things about St. Mary's. I haven't checked it out yet, but it's close to my house and my husband was born there.
These boards have been a great help and have eased my mind!
Thanks!
