Archer Thornton has arrived!!

Labour started off with a bang. Started contractions at 4am and they were immediately 4 min apart and lasting a minute. After about 2 hours at home we went into the hospital. They checked me and I was 3cm and 50% effaced at 7am. I waited a bit and then ended up taking a hit of morphine and gravol. My contractions were crazy intense. After this they moved me to my room on the ward around 830. At 1030 my doctor came to check me. I was still only 3-4cm but now 100% effaced. The contractions were crazy. They asked if I wanted an epidural and I decided to go for it, I just had to wait for the anesthesiologist to be done in the OR (small hospital). So at 12 they had me walk to the back but no one had checked me. I got the epidural and then sent my husband to go grab food for himself. The nurses checked me and in the last 1.5 hours I had gotten to 10cm! We waited for my husband to get back and the epidural gave me a little time to rest. So that was nice. Then at 1pm I started to push and baby was born at 150pm. He is doing wonderfully and I can't imagine my life without him! He is 9lb 2 oz and 21 1/4" long. :)
