These are definitely more goals than resolutions: 1. Buy a home 2. Join a gym and work DH into the daily dropoff/pickup routine in a way that allows me to actually go to the gym! 3. Get our financial house in order. Examine our budgets, live within our means and pay down debt. Especially important in light if #1.
But before all that, we have to pack the house, sell the car, and move across the country on the 11th. Aaaa!!!
Save save save. Pay down debt. Start school the end of February. Listen better. Argue less. Work on my issues. Live a healthier lifestyle. Find a new job.
I want to eat healthier. Pay off debt and save some money. And start a new career. I planned on doing the last resolution last year but flip flopped and couldn't commit. I'm still a little hesitant and very nervous but I'm ready for something to change!
I want my clothes to fit better. I want to cut back on my screen time and be in the moment. I want to take more pictures of the everyday things in our lives that are so fleeting.
I start some classes this month and I should finish by this summer, so my goal is to have a new career that pays more so that I can build a better life for me and Charlie. Maybe one day we can live on our own and not need any assistance.
I want to have be health; I want to have the energy to play with my son as much as he would like to. I've started working out with my husband, but need to do something on my own as well. I'll probably do yoga. Also, I'll start calorie counting again and go check with my doctor about my medications.
If we can stick to our financial resolutions, our debt - minus my student loans - will be paid off in March 2015. After that we'll go on a vacation, our first since our honeymoon in 2009, and then start paying off my student loans and saving for a house. We plan on renting here for 5 or 6 years until we are ready to buy.
Hopefully I'll get a part time job in child care so I can help pay down my student loans sooner.
@shana+chris I love your siggy! I'm always mobile, so I always miss them, but holy moly that's pretty!
My resolutions for the New Year;
1. Get involved in more outside the home activities for H. As of now (January 2nd) I have already signed us up for Swimming lessons starting next week, and gymnastics starting the first week of February. We have play group drop ins on Tuesday/Thursday, so in theory, we can have activities 4 days a week. It's not fair to him for me to keep him cooped up at home because I am too anxious to go out and do things. I may sign up for a prenatal yoga class as well, for me.... but we will see how the swimming and gymnastics go!
2. Have a healthy pregnancy. Gain weight the correct, slow way as opposed to 100lbs because I'm eating 5 or 6 cakes a day.
@JayandEmm I will be your friend. Resolution- complete.
Awe, thank you!! I wish you could view siggys via mobile. I neverrrr use my computer so I have no idea what anyone's siggys look like either!
I want to get C involved in activities too. We're in a wait list for swimming and we need to call about gymnastics, but I'm sort of chicken! I'm not super outgoing and sometimes my anxiety gets the best of me too.
1. Get to 140 pounds. That is a happy place for me in which I feel fit and can wear size 8, which most of my pants are, and a size medium top without my gut bulging out. I was 148 when I started my calorie counting break in October and DH took away my scale. I think I am 150-153 right now after three months of sensible-but-not-diet eating, so I don't have far to go. 135 would be even nicer, but I would be happy with 140. I'm going to devise some incentives for myself tonight!
2. Get A's in my grad school classes again. I have no idea if masters programs have any kind of summa cum laude or anything, but I want a good GPA. Not for job prospects because that doesn't matter; it's more of a matter of proving to myself that I can kick ass in grad school.
3. Finish my fifth half marathon. I have barely run since DD was born and did one 5k in November 2012. My last half marathon was in January 2012 when I was seven weeks pregnant. I miss it so much, especially the long runs. What I really miss is my old running group! I am signing up for a new training group to train for a race in April. I hope it goes well.
4. Travel with and without DD. DH and I are going to Denver/Boulder for a week in June without the kid. We want to plan a summer weekend away with DD as well. I also want to go skiing in the winter, so after our June trip, we may save for that.
5. Finish renovating our breezeway; plan and execute a bathroom renovation. The breezeway needs trim, paint, tile, and decor, so it is almost done. The bathroom is a massive renovation that will require us to move out for about a week. I want to do it this year so we can tend to other little things next year. We said we'd move before DD starts preschool and I'd like to keep that schedule.
6. Finish paying off credit card by October. Also begin a Disney trip savings account. I want to go when DD is four, so I just want to start with like $25 per week.
7. Deal with medical stuff now that we have good teacher insurance! This includes getting into the chiropractor to fix my after-pregnancy back issues and getting DH onto his preferred asthma and allergy meds. These aren't major issues, but the were things we were waiting to attend to until we mad better insurance.
1 - Get pregnant with baby #4 (and final)!!! 2 - DH and I agreed to go back to TMMO to get build up more savings to accomodate for resolution #1 lol...
