Trouble TTC

Nuvaring BC for 7 years

I used Nuvaring for 7 years, and Depo Provera for several years before that. Anyone out there use Nuvaring, and if so, how long before your cycle started back up again? I have been off for two months now, and so far, no sign of fertility. I am using the ovulation strips and no LH surge yet. I should have kicked the BC when my friend advised me to do so months ago!!

  • You might want to try to Trying to get pregnant board. It can take your body 6 months to a year to adjust coming off of birth control. If you don't temp already, I suggest doing so (check out the newbie blog on the TTGP board). If you reach 60 days without a period call your doctor. No need to worry prior to that.

  • It can take a few months for your body to get used to being off BCP - unfotunatly some get over it faster than others. But some people also have a short LH surge...so you coulde try 2 or so months of getting the cheapo strips from amazon and testing 2x  day.  Unlike the traditional instructions,,.you can test 2x a day and it be accurate, but you'd miss a short surge with once a day testing.  Some people just have a short surge.  But if you still have trouble after 6-12 months, I'd talk to my dr.
