Did a lot of walking today, had some pain down there, having menstrual-like cramps, and now the little one is doing lots of moving around. I wish she would come tonight:)
I went to the doctor today and was totally expecting to have to go to L&D for monitoring. Since I didn't, I had a lot of unexpected free time, so I got a mani & pedi. I had pizza for dinner. The baby is head down and keeps kicking me in the kidney. I can't wait until he's here so I can stop getting the kicks to the bad kidney. He moves and kicks all.the.time.
Oh wait, this isn't my blog. Oops.
We do say vagina around here, by the way. Or vag or vagine, if we're feeling funny. "Down there" is what a 12 year old says.
@peanutmuse - it's mostly just a "my lady bits are not a topic of dinner conversation" discussion.
SFIL and his family have zero boundaries when it comes to asking questions about doctors appointments, etc. my SFIL's mother flat out asked my DH if I was dilating yet, and how far.
Ah, ok. "Lady bits" is not even really necessary to answer that question, though. A simple "we're not discussing that" would probably suffice!
My 2 yr old DD calls it her 'gina' (just can't seem to get the 'va' part). Even though I'll repeat what she says back to her using the complete word 'vagina', more than once I've caught myself referring to my own as 'gina'. Luckily this has just been talking to DH and not my OB.
I was having a conversation with my uncle about a c- sections vs. "Natural birth". I could feel the ire of Jan 14 and wanted to correct him and say "all births are natural! !! It is a vaginal birth".... then the pregnancy fog lifted and I remembered he used to be a Catholic priest and maybe forcing him to say vagina was just too much.
I made a number two this morning. I got a sticker.
Love,
B
(I really did get to poo and it was pretty magical. I'm inclined to thank the glass of champs I had last night.) And add me to team Lady Bits. Among the other hundreds of terms I use.
