Taking a (short) break

I had my first appointment this morning. I'm measuring anywhere between 6w to 6w2d. We saw the yolk sak and the fetal pole, but no heartbeat yet. I'm **really** hoping it was just too soon. That's what my doctor seems to think. He said he's not at all concerned and while he would normally see me again in a month, he offered to have me come in sooner for a follow-up ultrasound if it would make me feel better. I of course jumped at the offer.

So, my next appointment is in two weeks on the 14th. I haven't felt much in terms of symptoms and with not seeing a heartbeat today, I've of coursed reached the panic level. I'm such an over-analyzer that seeing some of the posts on here make me worry more than I should, so I think I'm going to take a short break from TB. I'll keep y'all updated and I hope to be back in a couple of weeks!

I could of course use all the prayers (happy thoughts, crossed fingers and toes, or whatever you do) that I can get. Please be thinking of my little peanut!

    This happened to me with DD. I had long cycles so I saw only a pole the first time. I'm sure it's fine! It's nice to see the baby progress and know, within two week span, when they had their first heartbeat! I go in for my first visit on the 13th and I have no symptoms, so I am trying to keep calm and stay preggo ; ) I'm happy you saw your LO today!

    Fingers and toes crossed for you! This happened with DS- I was supposedly around 6w and there was no heartbeat, we went back a week later and saw that beautiful flicker. I also had zero symptoms save sore boobs with that pregnancy. Positive thoughts your way <3

    Why don't you ask your doc to do blood work to test your hcg levels? If they take them 48 hours apart they can tell if they are going up appropriately or not. Would give you peace of mind to not have to wait two weeks.

    I want you to know that I too got an ultrasound at 6w3d and saw the gestational sac and yolk but no fetal pole yet. Went back a week to the day later and saw and heard a strong heartbeat! Hang in there and don't worry, just like your dr. said. Most ob's won't schedule until a minimum of 8-12 weeks due to waiting until the heartbeat would easily be seen. I'm sure everything is fine!

    Prayers being sent your way! I went to the dr at about 6 weeks to confirm I was pregnant with my 1st DS and we seen exactly nothing. I was freaking out, but sure enough, two weeks later there he was heart beating like a drum. So I wouldnt worry.

    Sending lots of t's & p's. When I was pregnant with my daughter, my OB flat refused to do an ultrasound until 9 weeks at earliest for this exact reason. She said far too often you can't find the heartbeat yet and it is because it's just too early, not because it's not there. I hope this is the case with you.
