Sorry for so much Disney, but quick MagicBand question

Ours have been ordered and on MyDisneyExperience we have our room reservations linked. We were just planning to buy our park tickets when we get there and since I don't see reference to it on the Website, how do they -er - load the ticket reservations on the bands?

  • I'm worried about this too because we rented DVC points for the room and I'm getting tickets from Undercover Tourist. I'm hoping once we get the tickets, what we need to link the tickets to the magic band will be obvious. But I can't do any of the fastpass + stuff on the website until we have tickets linked.

    Yeah I already have reservations about what this FastPass+ thing is going to mean in the future. I feel like Fast Passes are going to be like dining reservations and everyone books them a year in advance.

  • If you buy them from one of the ticketing windows or your concierge, they'll probably scan your bands at the time of purchase and it will connect them to your bands. I'm honestly not even sure if they'll still give you actual tickets if you have a Magic Band. If you get tickets from somewhere else you should be able to add them to your MDE account by typing in the numbers on the back - at least, that's how I added my seasonal passes.
    Ok, that's what I was hoping. I feel like the Disney website kinda sucks, though. I tried to link our dining reservations and it found 2, but didn't find the other 2. I called to confirm I had the right number and last name (my parents are going too), and I did. UGH.

    I've heard that you can take the ticket number on the ticket itself and link it to your MDE account, which will link it to your MB. Apparently, you should be able to do that once you get the tickets in hand from Undercover Tourist. I was able to make Fast Pass Plus reservations at 60 days out for our 02/01 trip. Oh, and the Disney website SERIOUSLY sucks.

    Were your tickets from Undercover Tourist or somewhere else? I haven't even ordered ours yet, ugh.

  • Ours were part of our Disney package, but I understand that's all you need to do from a Disney message board I'm on. I just looked on the MDE site and if you go there, and click "Link my tickets" you should be able to type in the number from your ticket.

    We made our initial FP+ appointments only a few days before our trip and we were able to make changes to the times even during our FP+ window. I don't know if it's going to end up getting harder to get them or not as more people start using the system, but our experience so far was very positive.

    I screwed up when I initially created "My Family" on the My Disney Experience site and now i'm listed twice and cannot remove one of them (this is so pathetic, I do web work most of the day) but I literally cannot get in touch with Disney IT support this week. The phone wait is like an hour and the chat has been shut down. It's not a huge deal, but it's annoying that every time I try to make reservations, it thinks there are four of us instead of three. 

    I agree their website needs fixing. Step 1: make it so you can book more than one resort room. Trying to book rooms for our party (9 people) was seriously impossible online.
