How long did you wait before trying again? I just found out yesterday that my ivf was a BFFN. Of course it was the best cycle we have had on paper, and first time I made it to a 5 day transfer, so it was another IF slap in the face. Anyway, trying to plan out when is a good time to try again. I want to give my body a chance to recuperate for the best possible chance at success, so wondering what may have worked for others. Thanks!

My first IVF never made it past retrieval. My RE had me wait 3 months before cycling again. We moved on to IVF number two and made it to a three day transfer. This was another failing cycle and my RE had me wait three months again but he add metformin to the protocol, so he wanted it in my system before cycling again. Our third IVF cycle was our successful cycle.

BFFN's suck big time. I am wishing you the best of luck as you move forward.

I just had a failed cycle with a c/p in october, when i got my period that was the start of my next cycle and i am now 5 weeks pregnant! Fingers crossed everything is great!

If you can keep trying, work with your RE and do what you can, i know everyone has a different protocol... The only down side us the 5 lbs i gained from the meds i never lost... So i start this pregnancy 5 more than i wanted, which does not sound like much but i been working so hard to lose the last 20 from my son, good luck!

We had a failed IVF in April, our next cycle began in July (a success!). This was because I was required to do pre-cycle testing in between (saline sono) as I had a c/p. (((hugs)))

Sorry about the bfn

My first IVF was cancelled do to ohss. My second IVF was 5 months later (family circumstances) and I had a blighted ovum. As soon as my hcg was 0, we went for successful round 3. Good luck!

I'm so sorry for your BFN. My first cycle was canceled due to a dominant follicle. I triggered and suppressed for a second attempt in that very same cycle, which I think fried my eggs. We had a good response, but poor embryo quality. With my successful cycle, we waited one full cycle before beginning Lupron in the second cycle. So, it was two months between my ERs.

I was cancelled prior to retrieval with my first attempt. We were going to have to wait 4 cycles to get the optimal effect from DHEA. That said, usually my clinic makes you have a post IVF period and the next period can be your cycle day one (so you end up about 2 months between cycles). Otherwise they find your hormones to be still wonky from the previous IVF. Hope that helps.

I am so, so sorry about your BFN. My failed IVF was in December 2009/January of 2010 and I was cycling again in May of 2010. For me it was a little different because I had a drawn out m/c not a BFN and then I was very sick and hospitalized I between. We originally intended to cycle again in March but I wasn't physically or emotionally ready after everything we went through. With my second IVF we did most of the cycle in May and I got my BFP in June. Sending tons of thoughts and prayers that you get your sticky BFP very soon!

My first ivf failed and then we switched RE's. The first dr never did a saline sono for embryo placement, didn't do ICSI and put them in at 5dpt. New RE did saline sono, ICSI and all embryos came back to mama at 3dpt. Both ivf cycles I did with new RE gave me BFP's. Actually I bought one, got one on cycle 3

. Good luck with the next round. Btw, I think if you are mentally and physically up for it, you can do back to back cycles. Did you have your wtf appointment? I didn't e even show up for mine. I just knew the guy didn't have the experience I needed...
