Made it through the holidays!!

We made it through!!! My DH's parents are divorced and remarried. All of our families live within 40 mins of eachother. We spent a week bouncing between three households with baby and pup in tow. I nursed despite all of LO's craziness at the boob. And we are home...well in the driveway. Thank you Jesus. I feel like I can be myself again and hopefully get some of my confidence back. Anyone else have a crazy holiday at home?

    YES!  We drove 3 hours to where both sets of parents live on Wednesday and did Christmas with my family.  Thursday we did Christmas with DH's family.  Friday we went to my brother's house, went to my Dad's for dinner and met some friends for dessert.  All of these people live within 30 minutes or so of each other, so not terrible but a lot of short drives.  Then Saturday we got up early and met a friend for breakfast, stopped at another friend's house and ended up at DH's cousin's house about 3 hours from our family and spent part of the day there before driving 3 hours home.  I think even LO is tuckered out!

    Omg yes!! My mother in law was staying with us (is staying I should say, until tomorrow). She is not capable of letting a sleeping baby lie...omg every time I turn around she's In his face excitedly yapping at him and bouncing him or rocking him. Christmas Day was the worst, we got through dinner, went home and I put him in his bassinet for some quiet wind down time. I go to the kitchen for some water and come back and she's shoving a toy in his face and loudly yapping "what are you doing, do you have stories for nana, yes, yes you have stories, what are you doing, and clicking her tongue". I told her to stop it, and that he doesn't need any more stimulation and she got her nose out of joint. Well eff off, he's my kid (I didn't say but thought) My guy goes to sleep better when left alone (not totally alone) but she just doesn't get it. Also she's changed exactly half of one diaper in a twelve day stay. When she said she wanted to come help us out with our newborn, that is not what I expected. Thank god it's our last day!

    Christmas Day was the worst for us! We got to the in laws at ~7am and were there all day. They would not leave Sam alone to sleep, so he was awake from 7:30 to 2p. I finally got him away from everyone long enough to put him in his sling, and he fell asleep within 5 min.
    Not 10 min had passed and my MIL told me to take him out so she could hold him. When I told her "no, he needs to sleep", she proceeded to punch me in the arm and call me a jerk. I did not let her hold him again all day...

    Exactly! I had to put people in baby time out! I did the boba wrap to let him sleep for a bit twice. My goodness I am glad we weren't alone.

    Still getting through the holidays over here.  My MIL is staying with us until Thursday, then I have a close friend arriving that same day.  This weekend was crazy, because we wend out of town to attend a Baptism for our niece.  There were three little girls there who  LOVED the babies, and constantly wanted to hold them. The babies were being passed around all day.  LO is so glad to be home.  She has been catching up on her rest all day.
