I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Here's a happy and healthy New Year!
Baby Jack is sick

His fever spiked to 104.5 last night. Being a first time mom with a baby and their first non vaccine related fever/illness is horrifying. Went to the dr yesterday because he had spiked a fever of 102.9 on our 7+ hour drive home from visiting family. (thank you to BBB for being there in the middle of our trip with purchasable Tylenol and a changing room!!) Anyhow called our ped and they said to bring him on once we got to town. Ears and lungs are good as of now. Just watching, comforting and waiting it out. She had said multiple kids had been in that day w 104-105 fevers. I was so relieved J was only 103! Until the middle of last night... It's crazy that a fever that high is "ok" Thankfully Tylenol brought it down. He is still quite warm (sleeping on my shoulder) but not nearly as fireball as last night.
I know we are still at the beginning of sickness and it can still get worse I'm just scared and nervous.
Sorry to vent. Thanks for reading

Re: First sickness-scary fever :(
oh man, thinking of lo and you!
@nursemommy13 I thought the same. It seems too high to not be very concerned. She (the np/wife of our pedi) said she had been seeing multiple kiddos with that temp recently. Baby J didn't have any other extremely worrisome symptoms when she saw him (neck moved fine, ears/lungs ok etc) Thankfully it has come down since midnight and he currently is around 100. Historically he has gotten high temps post vaccine 101 at 2 months, 102 at 4 months and 102.7 at 6 months. but this is his first time being sick.
This sucks. I feel so bad for him. His spirits seem ok...but he is definitely uncomfortable on and off.
We live in the middle of nowhere and peds are few and far between
Praying it stays down!!!
