cholestasis moms

i got my results back today and it came back positive i just started medication to help. i am not that happy to know i might deliver at 38 weeks or early. hopefully medicine helps alot.

    38 weeks is full term and a lot longer than many moms on this board are praying to make it to.

    so far i am 35. 3 more weeks to go it all depends on my blood work every week, but yes you are right a lot of moms here are praying to make it i am thankful i made it all the way here. hopefully induce labor works out fine

    I'm sorry, OP.  A good friend of mine had cholestasis with all three of her pregnancies--it's good that you caught it.  All of her babies were delivered between 36-37 weeks, and all were healthy.

    how did it go ?? was it c-section or normal birth?... i am hoping for normal birth

    She was induced and had vaginal births.  I think the first two were right at 37 weeks.  Baby #3 had to be delivered a little earlier and had some NICU time.

    they'll induce you early. you can't go past 38 weeks because then it can effect the baby. my sister was induced and it took 3 days but she had a vaginal birth. I'm getting my second round of testing done on Thursday.

    the medicine they give you should help a lot with the itchiness, although everyone is different.
