I have a memory of the lady who used to come and babysit me when my parents and I lived in an apartment.
I told my mom about it a few years ago and she was shocked because we moved into our house when I was 18 months old, so it had to be sometime before then.
My earliest memory was watching the Challenger explode. We used to watch shuttle launches from our back yard (we lived near Kennedy Space Center). It was about 3 months before I turned 3
I have two memories competing for my first memory, but I'm not entirely sure which one came first.
1) Waking up around 0300 on 18 November, 1985 and screaming my fool head off because I wanted a glass of water. Apparently, I never did this any other time, but on this night, our next door neighbor came into my bedroom to see what I wanted. My brother was born about 5.5 hours later (and my parents were at the hospital was I was up asking for water). I was 3 at the time.
2) Watching two naked, emaciated males, standing back to back, get shot through the head and their bodies fall into a mass grave. My parents never monitored what we watched on TV, so at 3, I was watching documentaries about the Holocaust on what I'm guessing was HBO. I have to wonder if seeing this at such a young age didn't fuel my obsession with this horrible point in time. I continue to feel compelled to visit death camps, read everything I can about the Holocaust, and basically just learn as much as I can about it.

:-O
Eh, yeah.. like I said, my parents didn't really pay attention to what we watched on TV (or often, what we did in general).
The following year, I discovered my dad's VHS porn collection (which was locked in a cabinet). I learned to pick a (cheap/poor quality) lock with a screwdriver at an early age, and viewed my first pornography at age four. Even worse, I thought it was hilarious and invited neighborhood kids over to watch with me.
It was fourth of July we were sitting in my front yard( they shot fireworks off at the park district basically right across the street) my dad had been drinking and was totally plastered. There was a car that sped down the street he got pissed and threw his beer can at their back window. To which started a fight between my mom and him ( i remember the car stopped but I cant remember if the guy got out of the car)
I was somewhere between 2 and 3 and I remember playing outside in the snow with my dad when we lived in Maryland. It wasn't much snow but I remember having a blast!
I've been able to recall details here and there about some time I spent in the hospital at 18 months old from inhaling some potting soil. I had a bacterial infection in my lungs from the decomposing dirt. I remember my dad pulling me around the hallways of the hospital in a red wagon with an IV stand attached to it.
I have two early memories and I'm not sure which one happened first. I was one or two, not really sure. I fell off the docks in Big Bear and nearly drowned in the lake. I remember having my eyes open and looking around under the water. And then being pulled out by either my dad or my grandpa. The other memory was sitting on my dads lap and he let me drink some of his wine...I also remember throwing up in the bath afterward. My mom was pissed.
I remember laying in my crib and watching our cat poke his paws through the bars. I guess I was probably 1ish. And I also still really love cats, mostly in that obsessive, weird way...
One month before I turned three. My little sister was born. We were all born at home so when it came time for my mom to push, my oldest sister took me into our bedroom to clean it. Our bunny had babies that day too and then started killing them, so we took them and bottle fed them in the house.

My first memory was of my grandma and grandpa (dad's parents) watching me at their house when I was 3. My grandpa always had a supply of tootsie rolls at his house and would give them to me when I went over. I remember my grandma cooking while my grandpa sat in his chair in the family room. I miss them both!
I was almost 2 I was at daycare and I was sitting on the rug in the kitchen that we had to sit on when we were naughty. The daycare lady was cutting up a banana and I wanted some. She started yelling at me that I couldn't have any because I was a bad girl. I hate that this is my first memory!
I was 3 my little sister was a new born, and I remember I was changing her diaper and her umbilical cord fell out. I have no idea why as a three year old my mom was letting me change the diaper by myself. But I remember yelling to her to let her know what happened.
Hmm. I have a few early memories but there are some that I have NO idea how old I was, they're just so vague.
I think I remember a time that we were at the beach and I got caught in a wave and went under, and my dad pulled me out. On the way home, my parents took me to Dairy Queen and I got a Dilly Bar. Then again, my mom has told this story so much that I much just think I remember it, and not actually remember it. Memories are weird like that.
I posted earlier that I was almost 3, but I do have another memory that I think is a memory, but I'm not positive. But when I was about 15 month I ate some mushrooms from our yard and had to get my stomach pumped. I have visions of the door shutting and someone holding my head still while I screamed. But I don't know if that's real or not.

I have memories like this too because my dad was crazy with the camcorder. We have so much footage of my childhood I could have had my own reality show, haha. Some things I'm not sure if I really remember or just remember seeing the film of them, so I go by the memories I know aren't on tape somewhere.
I was three and remember being at the hospital right after my sister was born. According to family members, my grandmother had gotten me all dressed up to go see my new sister for the first time; however, somewhere in the mix, I had slipped my underwear off and started flashing everyone as soon as I got in the room. Apparently, as the first born and only child until that point, I was NOT ok with sharing the spotlight lol! All I remember is the hospital room and my poor grandma trying to wrestle with me to make my outfit whole again haha
