June 2014 Moms

Oh so much to say....

Its out.....completely.

After almost four months of pregnancy...all the important people know.
My MIL found out yesterday due to my wide mouthed son;-)
We were waiting until after all the holidays because we weren't sure how she would handle it. She is very protective over DH and thinks we have enough children. Which we do. This is number "surprise!";-)
Surprisingly...she took it well and things are good.
I can now move on and I'm excited.

Husband is finally talking/excited about it.

And now I'm ready to start preparing for the arrival.
Really considering home birth...just dont know how to pay for it.
Want to do co sleeping because of the lack of room and breastfeeding but really unsure of what product to use. We dont have a lot of money to work with so its difficult.

But all in all....things are very good. Very very good.

I'm glad that things went over better than expected. But now I'm curious, what # is this going to be, for real?

No suggestions for the home birth/co-sleeping - not looking to do either but I'm sure some of the awesome ladies on here will be able to point you in the right direction!

Lol....It's number six in the house hold. Three are his from a previous marriage. I have one and together we will have two. It is a very large family;-)

  • Congratulations!

I just wanted to share that our insurance pays for 100% of our homebirth providing that our midwives are in network (they are). Our out of pocket expense was something like $100 for supplies and around $700 for a birth assistant which our midwives required. I am very spoiled to have amazing insurance though. Definitely look into it if you are insured. You might be surprised.

As for co-sleeping options. My daughter slept in the bed with us. It was the ONLY place she would sleep. I don't drink, smoke or take medications that left me concerned that I would hurt her. After three night of actual sleep but not moving a muscle I realized that co-sleeping was the ONLY viable choice for our family with our first child. If Squish wants to sleep on his own - I'm not going to fight him but co-sleeping is a life saver for so many families.

My family is a Foreign Service family. Families like mine are posted in every corner of the globe. We live our lives away from family, friends and the conviences and comforts of home. We often live and work in dangerous places among those that misunderstand our intentions and purposes. Sometimes members of our ranks sacrifice our lives to further diplomacy.  Please remember that we serve too. And I'm always open to questions.

  • Well....don't know what kels or snarky gifs are (though I love the word snarky;-)....but you all have at it any way you want.

I'm excited about so many things anymore. Just knowing that everyone is cool with it and I won't be getting the evil eye from mil anymore is a big relief.

On that note....husband left his dirty clothes in the hallway last night. Really?!?

I swear....I've spoiled that man entirely too much.
