Hi ladies! I've been lurking here for a few weeks and wanted to introduce myself- my name is Heather, I'm 29 years old, and lately I just feel like I need to talk to people who understand and are going through the same thing. Not many people know we're TTC, but it's hard to keep hearing "just relax and it'll happen", or "you must not be doing it right- it should only take a couple months". DH and I have been TTC for a little under a year. I've been taking PNV since 12/12, using OPKs, and charting since February on Fertility Friend. My cycles started out fairly regular with late ovulation (cd25-27), and I've had a couple anovulatory cycles (68-79 days).
I was planning to wait the full year before talking to my ob/gyn about it, but when I went in for my annual in early December, she seemed concerned about my long cycles, especially since she knows we're TTC. She scheduled me for an ultrasound and cd3 bloodwork- bloodwork came back normal, and the only concern with the ultrasound was a 1.5 cm cyst on my left ovary, but it was collapsing on it's own, so she said she wasn't worried about it. DH has a SA scheduled with an RE for 1/6/14 and when I start my new cycle (hopefully in the 30-40 day range, not the 60-70), I'll schedule my HSG with the RE. I've researched the SA as much as possible to try to prep DH for it, but
he doesn't seem nervous or worried (which is a good thing- I worry
enough for the both of us). DH keeps telling me it'll happen when it's
meant to happen, but I tend to be proactive (and sometimes impatient).
This process has definitely made me better at being patient. My ob/gyn says that as long as the SA and HSG come back fine, she'd like to start me on a monitored clomid cycle (with the ultrasounds and bloodwork). I'm not sure it that would be through her office or the RE's.
I've been overweight for about 4 years, and started Weight Watchers (already down 10.8 pounds this month)- I have about 70 more pounds to lose to be in a healthy weight range. I'm definitely concerned that the reason we aren't getting pregnant is because of my weight, although my ob/gyn didn't seem to think it was a problem.
Everyone in this group seems so supportive and knowledgeable- I'm looking forward to getting to know you and learning from you.
Me: 29, DH: 29 TTC since: 2/13 Long, anovulatory cycles Began fertility testing 12/13 Ultrasound and bloodwork: Everything looks good (according to my ob/gyn) HSG: waiting to schedule SA: scheduled with RE for 1/6/14

I'm in the same boat, minus the awesome 10lbs loss Patience has been super hard for me too....hugs. I hope your stay here is short, but just wanted to tell you I've found such relief and comfort from these ladies in just a few short days here. Lots of baby dust your way! GL!
