Starting Clomid Day 6?

Hi everyone,

Was wondering if anyone has ever started Clomid on Day 6 of their cycle and if so, how did it work?

Long story short, I was waiting for biopsy results (which were thankfully negative), which I got today. So my RE wasn't able to clear me for treatment this cycle until my biopsy results were in. I received the results today (day 6 of my cycle) and my RE said I could start Clomid today and we would treat today as day 3 of my cycle.

Was wondering if anyone had experience with this? TIA!
BFP: 5/10/14 after 14 cycles of trying!
EDD: 1/21/15
5/12 1st beta: 28
5/14 2nd beta: 87.5
5/23: 3rd beta: 4000.6 + saw gestational sac and yolk sac
5/30: 4th beta: 17,852 + saw fetal pole and heard heartbeat! 127 BPM!

    No. But I'm sure it's fine, a lot of people start on day 5.

    Sidenote- that is pretty effing weird that your Dr. would say "We'll treat today as day 3" Umm wtf Doc? I would have side eyed that shit.

    @mrscastillo I asked about that too! And she replied that it was ok bc I usually have long cycles (29-30 days) and I said but last month I had a short cycle - 25 days. So I said ok.

    I'm going on January 7th for monitoring and (hopefully) Ovidrel trigger.

    It's just so weird that she would say we'll treat today as "day 3" it's not set in stone that you have to start on day 3, and she should know that  8-|

    I've started cycles on day 2, 3, and 5, and I've taken Clomid anywhere from 5-8 days. 


    That comment seems so sketchy. Anyway I'm sure it'll be fine.

    I have started on day 5, so I am guessing day 6 wouldn't be too big of a deal (especially if you have longer cycles).  Good luck!

    I've started on day before. I o'd cd 16 that cycle
    M/C 4/2008 BFP 7/2008 DS 3/1/2009 TTC #2 since May 2012 Lap - May 2013 - no findings Ectopic 9/2013 mtx HSG 10/2013 tubes open Nov 2013 Clomid Round 1 days 4-8: BFN Dec 2013 Clomid Round 2: days 2-6: BFN
