Just a reminder..

I know we are all grown ladies but sometimes people think they are invincible.

DH just came home from work and had to work a fatal traffic collision last night. 2 people died and 3 were ejected. Driver was DUI and was not one of the fatalities. This happens more than you think, the DUI driver survives and others die.

So with the holiday upon us please have a DD, take a cab, or (at least in California) aaa will pick you and your car and take you home (even if you aren't a member). Please remind family of this too.

Also (in California anyway) a DUI arrest can cost up to $10,000 when all fines and classes are said and done.

Okay I'm done being mother hen. ;) Hope everybody has a happy new year.

    I used to think an accident would never happen to me....that all changed 2 weeks ago when the dumb broad ran a red light. I look back now and think how much worse it could have been if she had hit me instead of me hitting her

    So very true. I've had 2 friends be killed by a drunk driver, and another with a tbi from him driving drunk. It's just not worth it. I'm sorry your h had to experience that, and he probably experiences it more than anyone should. :/

    I'm so nervous about being hit with lo in the car. DC/MD traffic is in the top 10 worst in the nation...people are idiots here.

    If I can add to this, if you've had one or two drinks and think you're fine to drive, that's not always the case. An acquaintance of mine was out one, had two drinks over a long period of time, and thought he was fine to drive home. On the way home, a drunk teenage girl crashed into him, so he called the police. Turns out, they test everyone at the scene, and he was over the limit.

    So he was given a DUI by the police that he himself called to the scene. Turns out, you can be very wrong about your own level of impairment.

    We're staying in this year and not having anyone over because I don't want us or our friends to deal with the crazies.

    True. True. I was rear ended taking my dogs to the vet the other day. Thank god LO wasn't with me, it was on his side did the car. The jerk U-turned and fled the scene. No one caught him. I was livid. Thank god no one was hurt, but it just kills me that it could've been LO with me. And it could've be worse. Doesn't matter if your a good driver--it's all the aasholes that are out there.

    BFP Dec 8! EDD Aug 17th, due to Preeclampsia and HELLP, Kylie Penelope was born July 30th!

    This is one of my worst fears. I don't even want to think about it.
