Just got my official c/s notice and it's at 5 pm this time. Weird- my Ob typically schedules them early in the morning. I don't really mind, my first was at night and it was good to just sleep it off. But this means I won't be able eat most of the day. DH said, "oh crap, you will be one hangry biotch."

  • ugh!  That is a long time to go without eating while awake!!!  I am ravenous 24/7 so I would be no fun to be around either! lol

I'd make my husband starve for a comment like that.....after all, you didn't get into this situation on your own so he should suffer too!!!!
  • Mine is not until 1 and I thought that was going to be bad! Yikes! I can't eat after 5 am, so I'm planning on eating something just before then (I figure I'll be awake anyway), and then I can have clear liquids until 9, so jello, broth, etc. I'm going to try to have what I can to keep from getting too hungry. With DS, I ate at about 9 am on Saturday and then didn't get to eat again until about 7 am on Monday due to a long induction which ended in a late afternoon c-section. That was way too long!

Nebby question, since they are still treating you as having GD, did you ask your doctor what you are supposed to do about your BS/BG numbers if you fast for that long?  And are they maybe having you come in the night before and actually doing the sugery in the morning?  I don't have mine officially scheduled yet, so I am using other people's experiences to plan.  Thanks.

Also, take the opportunity to show him what a hangry biotch really is, while you can, I think he pretty much asked for it.

Doc says no food for 8 hrs but I will ask about broth/jello. That could be enough to control the beast within ;-). My whole family knows what happens if I go too long without food. It's not pretty and I certainly can't hold it against him for pointing out the obvious! No, they are not admitting me the night before. She will start cutting at 5pm. I will get there early for pre op.
