feeling the babes

Just wondering if you ladies felt/feel the babies moving equally or if you feel one more than the other. Does it switch? I am feeling A a lot, but B sometimes once or twice a day. I think I used to feel B more than A. Just curious if I should be reading more into this or not....

Thanks in advance for your imput!

Edit: I am 22w along (for mobile bumpers)

Re: feeling the babes

  • I'm earlier along (14w4d) and haven't felt them yet, but my OB told me this would likely happen and has a lot to do with how they're positioned.

  • I only really ever felt "A" the whole pregnancy. It was the last 2 weeks I actually felt "B" some. And for the longest time I thought As knee was what kept sticking out but it was really Bs hand :) I also never felt B flip and even at 33.5 weeks he flipped head up to head down 4 times and I never once felt it or noticed! He did it during delivery too and now that he is on the outside this kid is a magician at wiggling out of anything!

  • I felt Baby A all day everyday.  Baby B I only felt once a while.  There were days were I swear she never moved lol.  The were both side by side, head down the whole time.

  • I feel one baby more than the other. I haven't sorted out who is who yet, but it's the baby on the right moves probably 2-3x as much as the baby on the left. I plan to ask my doctor tomorrow at our appointment, but I suspect it has to do with position and just their general wiggliness and individual personalities showing through. I do love it when I can feel them both at the same time though!

  • My baby A is waaaay more active, but it's also their positioning too...baby B's back is on the outside so all the kicks etc I don't feel. Unlike baby A where I get constant hands and feet on the outside. An ultrasound always shows baby b as more active, which isn't a match to what I feel!
  • I feel A a whole lot more than B. Part of that is positioning and part is because B has an anterior placenta.

    ((BFP 7/29/13))  ((EDD 4/12/14))  It's BOY/GIRL twins!!!

  • How early did you all start to feel them move? I'm 15w3d with my first "real" pregnancy (blighted ovum earlier this year) so I'm not sure what I'm feeling. Other twin moms I've spoken to said it's possible to feel them this early, since there are two, but I've seen them flipping all over the place on ultrasound and don't seem to feel anything....

  • Yes :). They are independent beings with independent patterns. Placental placement and fetal positioning are also huge factors.

  • So glad you posted this! I'm 20w6d with boy/girl twins. (A=girl, B=boy) I feel him all the time know but hardly ever feel her--which has become a bit worrisome. However, I do know that she is sitting much lower in my uterus and has an anterior placenta.
  • AmandaFaith, it is so reassuring to know you're not alone, huh?  Congratulations with your purple babies!

  • I'm 22 wks with trips, I've been feeling baby A since week 15. Baby b&C just started letting me know they are in there about 20wks. Baby A&C are the most active where I only feel baby B maybe 1time a day. I'm a bartender(well not any more Christmas was my last day!) so I work in a loud environment with loud music....we've figured out that if we play the car radio or home system loud they all go crazy and wiggle around...they seem to love it.

  • I feel A a LOT more than B. A is vertex and B still sometimes goes breech. But yeah, A is felt all day and B more like a few times a day. It's frustrating!
  • This definitely depends on positioning and size.  I felt baby A (DS) *all* the time.  He was transverse and his feet were by my bladder!!!  Yeah, I peed alot!
Baby B (DD), she was small, also transverse, and by my ribs.  I never really felt her.  Always made me nervous.  Thankfully with ultrasounds every two weeks I was able to see that she was just fine.  I always thought I'd feel her pulling on my ribs but I never did.

  • I always felt Baby B more. John liked to kick kick kick. Caleb was more into arm movements, so since they faced each other I rarely ever felt him moving
