STM...recommendations please

I love my double stroller, but I've yet to find a lightweight single stroller. Target is about my only option where I live and the pickings are slim. Do you have a lightweight stroller you like? My oldest never cared for a stroller and my 1 year old loves it and I'm currently using an old hand me down that's seen it's better days. I would like a lightweight stroller for DD. Hopefully, DC#3 will be a stroller baby, too.

Re: STM...recommendations please

  • I love my city mini, but wouldn't exactly call it light. It folds up super easily though and is easy to carry.

  • We just bought a Maclaren Quest secondhand and love it. I would highly recommend it, though not sure I'd pay full price. If I were buying one new, I had decided on the Uppababy G-luxe. They're both lightweight umbrella strollers that recline.
  • I second the uppababy suggestion. I got one for a great price on Amazon last year and love it.

  • Don't limit yourself to Target.  Do amazon…. free shipping with prime (90 day trial… order stroller, get it, make sure you like it, then cancel membership).

  • We borrowed a Chicco Liteway to take on a trip to Philly with DD1 (7 mos at the time) - we completely loved it! Folded up small so we could still fit all our stuff in the trunk of my Kia Spectra, but had a nice shade, reclined and had a basket underneath. You can get it on Amazon.

  • I second the britax-b-agile!!  It is super light and so easy to fold and unfold. The cheapest place to get it is on Amazon. I love britax products and am thinking about getting the b-ready with the seat adapter so we will have a double stroller.
  • We have an uppa baby glite and love it! I bought it on Amazon.

  • Target carries the City Micro with almost lay flat and it is AWESOME. Works for even little babies with the near flat. I had the original city micro for dd#1 and loaned it to another mom who fell in love with it.

Pluses: it's like 12 lbs or something, so really light. One handed fold and carry. One of the biggest sunshades on the stroller market. Fantastic stearing. I could push with one hand anywhere across almost any terrain.

Downers: the under basket kind of sucks. It's hard to get my JJ Cole Mode diaper bag in and out of. It doesn't collapse width wise, so if that's a problem.... It has small wheels and isn't great on gravel if that is an issue.

Last I saw target had them for like $99 in the store.

  • I recommend the City Micro or City Mini. I'm a big fan of the Baby Jogger City series strollers... we have the City Elite in both the single and double and love them both, although they aren't light.
