Due Date Statistics

Don't *think* this has been shared here before, but it might be interesting if you're a data whore, like I am.  :)

Re: Due Date Statistics

  • @Arya808  She has a section on it down lower on the page where she has other charts that sort the data differently.  The one one FTM, STM, moms etc. is here:  https://spacefem.com/pregnant/charts/duedate6.php
    and something else here:

I haven't really looked at it though.

  • The thing that always irks me (because I'm OCD) is when they say that 280 days = 9 months and 6 days. The number of days past 9 months is dependent on the day that you start counting, because some months have more days than others. So 280 days for me is actually 9 months and 4 days, for example.

But like I said, I'm a bit OCD about stuff like this. :)

I am also quite shocked about the fact that some women went past 43 weeks. Yikes!
  • I looked at the data and saw that second pregnancies are one day longer, on average. DS1 was 9 days late, so if DS2 is 10 days late, I will cry. I'm mentally preparing to go late again, but it's hard.
  • Very interesting! Love that she was so curious to collect and analyze the data; it's so true that what's portrayed as truth is often not what it seems when you dig into the studies.

  • I think it's been linked here before, cause I have it bookmarked. I look at it every morning when I wake up and find out "oh, I have a 5% chance of going into labor today... that's non-negligible! (but it's probably not going to happen)."

I thought it was really interesting that the study everyone talks about first time moms going way late had a sample size of 38. It's somehow comforting to me to find out that maybe I'm not that likely to go that late after all.

    Yay numbers!
    DS1 12/30/13
    Miscarriage 3/15 at 10 weeks
    BFP 7/23/15 EDD 4/3/16

I had also read something about siblings being born at the same point of the moon phase which I thought was pretty cool.

I wonder if this holds true for STM+ on here.  I looked up DS1 and if the moon phase thing holds true, DS2 will be born on 1/21 or 1/22.

@AnnikaD20 - If you look at our board, I think someone posted today that we have about 260 moms, and 54 outside babies (or was it 260 inside babies?). Anyway, you could probably just look at our board for chances of our group going 2 weeks late :)
