Biting 15 mo old

DD is 15 months and is always biting me. I think she's trying to kiss me but she keeps wrapping herself around my leg and biting. I've tried biting her back (hated to try it but heard it worked) and it did nothing. Any suggestions?

Re: Biting 15 mo old

  • My DD is almos two and does the exact same thing. I have never tried biting her back though ppl have said that it works. When she does bite I get down to her level and pop her mouth( not too hard, just enough to shock her) and I say we don't bite. Since then she hasn't even tried to bite. Though this method worked for my daughter it may not work for yours, GL I hope you find something that will work.

  • My 15 month old starting biting Friday at daycare got the same little girl 2 times :( they do time out and discuss how much it hurts her feelings. She bit me this Morining and I bit her back and she laughed flat out laughed in my face. I know I hurt I left marks but she thought I was playing and didn't care at all. Tonight she bite my husband out of anger and he did poo her because she wouldn't let go and got on her level told her no and sat her in time out for a minute. She then at to give him so love after her time was up. It's such a hard age because I'm not sure if she truley gets it!
  • Oh dear so we're in the same boat. I agree I don't think she gets it. I think she wants my attention and is also teething. I tried the pp's suggestion and kinda flicked my finger on the side of her mouth and said no no. That helped a bit. I think it's going to take awhile before she gets it. Appreciate others being in the same boat!
