Is it possible (growth spurt)?

Is it possible to have two growth spurts back-to-back?

L went through a growth spurt last weekend, from Sat to Wed, she ate every 20 min-2 hours for 5 days straight (and was pretty fussy). Thurs and Fri, she slept a decent amount (I needed the sleep too!!). I assumed this was the 3-week growth spurt.

Sat was a pretty normal day until last night. She normally gives me 3, 2-3.5 hour stretches throughout the night. Last night, she slept from 7-10, nursed, slept from 11-12, and then since midnight (now 10:30) she's been doing 30 min nursing, 15-20 min sleep ::repeat:: all night. And she's been nursing quite aggressively! We've tried other soothing techniques, rocking, singing, giving her to dad, pacifier - she won't take any of it (and at very least she usually takes the pacifier pretty well), she just fusses. I made DH go out at 8am to get some gripe water thinking maybe that would help, gave it to L at 8:45, but haven't noticed a difference yet.

It feels like another growth spurt coming on, but it seems too soon!

Honestly I feel like my LO has been in a constant state of growth spurt since 3 weeks - and he's 7 weeks today!

Oh yay! Something to look forward to...

Seriously, I don't understand how people have two kids! DD has been in "boob or scream" mode for the last 13 hours - I can't even get away to use the bathroom let alone possibly care for another child!

  • My DD is 5 weeks and seems to be starting her 6 week growth spurt. What's worse, my 2 year old is getting a set of molars cutting through & is having a growth spurt. Fun!
