Shortly after migrating over to the PAIF board, we lost our LO at 6 weeks. This is our second miscarriage in a row. I'm heartbroken and confused. Those of you who don't know me (but a lot of you probably do since Ive been on TB for awhile now), I have had one fresh IVF cycle that lead to BFN, and 2 FET that have lead to a pregnancy but lost both at 6 and 7 weeks. My first miscarriage I had to have a D&C and then a polyp removal. It took 3 months for my beta to reach negative before I can start another cycle. This time I miscarried naturally and now I just need to wait out my beta to drop to negative before we can move forward. My doctor believes it is definitely something wrong with the embryos but wants to do the RML panel first to see if they can find something wrong with me carrying the pregnancy. If nothing is found then my doctor is recommending we do another fresh IVF cycle to get more embryos since I only have 3 left to do genetic testing on. I can't believe I may be doing another whole cycle and starting over again. I started with 9 embryos and have lost 5 on this rough journey. I haven't wrapped my head around it all yet but I know I won't give up and know that I need to keep moving forward to try to get my take home baby. Any of you have experience with the RML panel and genetic testing? What tests they do and how long everything takes for results? I am worried the genetic testing takes a long time to get results back, is this true?

I am so sorry for your loss, this is absolutely heartbreaking. Take care of yourself and DH.

I had the genetics testing and the RPL panel. The RPL panel is a lot of blood work. They took about 12-15 vials, and majority of it is clotting disorders and things like that. This testing varied, I was getting results for almost 2 weeks. But I think the one that took 3 weeks was the testing on the tissue they took from my d&c. The genetic testing was done on DH and I when we first went to our RE, and those results came back fast, maybe a week. Hopefully you will get some answers, but I am so so sorry you find yourself here again. Hugs to you and DH.

We are looking at another fresh cycle as well, since we didn't even have any to freeze after our last cycle.

As for the testing, it will be lots of bloodwork- we had a chromosomal panel done, as well as other tests for clotting issues, autoimmune issues, and thyroid. When I had mine done (we actually had it all done before we even started IVF/had a loss) it took about a month to get results from everything back.

With embryo testing, I think it is generally done on day 3-5. One cell is removed from each embryo and tested for chromosomal issues such as inversions, translocations, additions and/or deletions. At my clinic, they sometimes do day 3 testing to allow time for results, then a fresh day 5 transfer or 'normal' embryos. Some clinics freeze all after they have grown out to day 5 if results will take longer.

I am so sorry for your loss. This is so unfair and upsetting. I just had my second chemical and have done 3 transfers. I did the RLP and the only thing that came up was high Prolactin. We knew this already but after the RLP I was put on meds for it. It did not help bc I had another chemical. My RE suggest we do PGS with my next IVF. He suspects embryo quality issues.

Hang in there. This sucks. I'm hoping for a better 2014 for all of us.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Hopefully the RMP will come back normal and you can move forward. The PGS testing is quick and I've heard they've had good success with thawing, biopsying and re-freezing. I'm sure you will get your take home baby soon!

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I will be praying you find the answers you need in order to begin again to add to your family. I will be keeping you in my thoughts/prayers. Take time to grieve and take care of your body/spirit. My condolences.
