20 mg every 4 hours.... Helps most of the time... I try and see what's going on w my body and tke as needed which lately I have had to stick to every 4 hours. Made it to 34 weeks so its working
I have been taking 10mg 4x/day since 15 weeks as precaution. Lately, things have been so crazy that sometimes I'll forget to take them. I have not been having crazy contractions in any case, though-the script was strictly precautionary due to PTL/early loss last pregnancy.

Our Angel was born sleeping at 20 weeks due to IC.
I started on 10mg every 6 hours. As of a few hours ago I'm up to 20mg every 6 hours, a little earlier if needed. It's not doing that great of a job for me. I'm still having pretty regular annoying contractions. I'm gonna give it another dose or so per my doctor and see if the bump up helps, if not, it's back to L&D for me... :-/
I never really post here but read often. I'm on 30ml xl 2times a day but not for contractions for high blood pressure they mix it with another blood pressure med. Also the reason it says to not eat grapefruit while taking this medication is because grapefruit can make your blood pressure go up. Doctors don't know why but it can happen to some people.
20 mg every 4 hours (at night also). I start having contractions about 30 min. before my next dose is due (not every day).
Same here, but I am on every 5 hours. My doc said that if I begin to feel my contractions strengthen before my next dose is due that I probably need to move it up an hour. So when the contractions begin to spike (regularly) before my next pill is due then I'll move from every 5 hours to every 4 hrs.
I'm on procardia 10MG every 6-8 hrs and if contractions start I have to take terbutaline 2.5MG all for PTL but very low dosages compared to other ladies post.

I am by no means a doctor, but wonder if you could ask your doctor about every 4 hrs instead of 6???
I was sent home from L&D last night on 20mg every 6 hrs. Dr. Google had me seriously freaked out about taking this, but I'm happy to see how common it is on F14 and that it's working for many of you! Three weeks of bed rest and procardia to keep this LO cooking!!! Hopefully it does the trick!

The main reasoning for not eating grapefruit or it's juice is that it contains enzymes that will block the absorption of Procardia in your stomach (as well as a ton of other meds)
@veronicaann143. When I realized you were the OP, and that your little bundle was already here... I was anxious to hear your birth story! Enjoy your snuggle time but come back and visit when your laptop is up and running!
Were you dialated when they put you on procardia or just having contractions?
Re: Procardia
I am on Procardia.

I know the bottle said to NOT eat grapefruit while taking Procardia. Anything else that you know to avoid?

@veronicaann143 I'm anxious to hear your birth story as well! I second the "were you dilated" question.
Hope all is going well with you and your LO!
How is your baby boy doing? How are you holding up Mama?
*I was on Procardia with DS1 and progressed 4cm by the time I went into labor with him.
