April 2013 Moms

So how's your night going?

We are at our 4th Christmas party. I'm in the room DH's aunt told me to use for nursing/naps but she's walked in twice. Someone is steam cleaning a pee accident outside the door, and before that, six kids and DH's cousin were loudly playing there. At the top of the staircase, not in the playroom. Oh, now one kid is playing the piano. Did I mention we are in a blizzard warning and still have to drive home? Yeesh. Good thing I love these people!

  • Ha!  We had our fourth Christmas last night, and I took many opportunities to feed LO in the other room (I'm not nursing, but he gets distracted with so many people around!).  Bah humbug; we took down all our decorations after the last guest left.  Ha!

  • We just got home from our first "Christmas" at the in-laws (missed the actual day due to the sickies) and DH went to sleep at 6:30pm (still sick).  So, now LO and DH are asleep and I'm trying to figure out if I should clean and organize LO's new stuff and wash bottles/dishes (which I should be doing, I guess), or watch a marathon of something on TV, eat cheese and crackers for dinner, and enjoy the quiet, alone time!  Hmmm tough choice ;)
  • @knitfaced I love our big family gatherings too- just not the incessant noise when trying to let DS get a quick nap in since these Christmas parties exhaust him. Nap got cut short so he stayed crabby. We are home now!

  • Had a family Christmas party today and even though I said Ella hasn't been feeling well and she will probably cry they took her out of my arms only to hand her back .5 seconds later..she just wants her mommy back off
  • I watched we are the millers and had home made pizza...both made for a perfect night...thanks for the movie recommendation...hilarious!!

  • Warner decided to have an epic meltdown... like, inconsolable... and this child NEVER cries. He was up all night wailing, has a low grade fever again, and just vomited about 47 gallons of puke all over me. You all would probably find it entertaining to listen to two physician parents trying to debate thresholds for taking him to the ER. Oh and did I mention we traveled to Chicago this weekend and are supposed to be on a plane at 9pm tonight? Just. Kill. Me.

You made me lol at this. It's so true -babies who have parents in the medical field have to endure much more before they end up in the ER. Sorry again that Warner is still not feeling well. Good luck on the plane tonight. Hope you have a safe flight...it'll be good to be home again :)

For those of you who had extended Christmas thru the weekend, can't imagine how exhausted you and your LOs must be! We only had a day and a half of family gatherings and traveling and I'm still recovering.

  • @skiderdo - good luck on the flight. How long is it? It's not night anymore but we are having DHs family over for dimmer tonight. I'm over it. LO has been so out of sorts since Christmas - too much action! And is currently fighting a nap. And my husband went for a hike - so now when he finally gets home we will be crazy pressed for time trying to get everything done and ready. Should be a blast. But hey - this should be the tell tale test on whether or not MIL has any intention of giving my daughter a Christmas gift.
