I'm the baby tonight

I got DD into her crib tonight ( for the first time) got the heater, the fan, night light and monitor all set up. Get into bed and pick up my phone to look at her and felt a drop in my stomach and almost started crying, had to go get her and put her back in the bassinet next to me. Whelp I tried! :P haha oh boy I'm such a wimp!

Re: I'm the baby tonight

  • Oh my goodness! You crazy lady ;) I've been in your shoes with DD and with DS I am happily past this point. It's so hard to let go. Sometimes I still feel bad because he is only a baby for such a short time, but now he won't sleep near me unless I'm holding him. Good luck next time!

  • There are many nights where I just want to take DS and put him back in my room in his pnp!

  • I think I will be the same way when we put Soph in her crib for the first time!

  • Dd still hasn't ever slept in her crib and she is 3 months. It's hard for me as well, just thinking about it makes me sad. I said when I go back to work she will start sleeping in her crib. Uuuum not happening, I'm too attached and love waking up to her smiley face every morning.
  • I totally get it. I haven't been able to move her to her crib yet either and she'll be 4 months on Tuesday. My goal was when I go back to work on Thursday but I doubt it'll happen. I also just love waking up and seeing her. I'm a wuss...
  • The first night we put my oldest in his own room, my hubby and I slept on an airmattress in the nursery. With my new LO,I am dreading putting him in his crib. He is my last baby and I am not ready to move him yet.
  • My plan was to move LO into her room during winter break. Yeah, that didn't happen. H and I just aren't ready. We love having her in the room with us. Last night we switched her from her basinett to her pack and play and she did really well. I think we will talk about her going to her own room around 6 months
  • I'm so torn about it. She wakes up 2-3x to eat so it's nice to pull her into bed with me. I feel like I get way more sleep than if she were in a different room, but then again would she sleep longer in her own room? I think I just need to suck it up and try it for a night.

  • Our goal was to move LO over winter break too… Yup, definitely hasn't happened. I love having him next to me at night, and it's so easy to feed him. DS1 was already in his crib by this age, and he sleeps great… I really hope I'm not hurting myself in the long run.

Alice sleeps MUCH better in her own room. She was going down at 10:30, waking up around 5, eating, then back down until around 7 very consistently

She's been in our room for the holidays bc we had company & she's adding at least one additional wake up.

  • I haven't even attempted the move to the crib, but if I did this would be me.

  • We moved DD to her crib at 8 weeks. I finished feeding her, laid her down, and started crying. I walked intoi out bedroom and said to DH how she looked so small in there and she didn't seem ready for it. We kept her there for the night, and other than a period of time a few days later where she started waking up again more through the night, we haven't looked back since. DD is such a crazy sleeper that she would hate it if she was still in the PNP on our room. She turns herself completely around in the crib. And trust me, she is still super smiley even morning
