I really love it. If my boys had been girls, they probably would have been Julia and Elena. It was my top girl name for a long time. It finally fell off my list only because it doesn't have a great meaning (downy-headed, or downy-bearded youth) but if meaning's not important to you, go for it!
I really like Julia, I think it's a pretty name, not too common, but classic. If we were having a girl it was on my list (but DH said he would prefer Juliet)... But we are having twin boys so didn't have to worry about that.
It's our current leading girl name. It's not my favorite all time girl name, but it's classic and elegant, has cute nn option, isn't super common and, for us it works beautifully with the last name.
