Hi Ladies,
Im from the 3-6mon board and the Aug 2013 board and I just want some opinions from some ladies who are going through this or have gone through it. i was wondering how you started introducing solids. I heard that you should do one fruit or veggie at a time for like 10 days or something? I don't know. Pedi isn't much help on specifics. How did you start? what did you start with? How much? How did you progress? Etc. Im also going to post this on the 9-12 mon board and another bumpie posted a similar question so hoping for some help

TIA!

Re: feeding solids
We started with oat cereal, apple sauce, pear, chick peas, beans, yams, peas, carrots.. All mashed up
Some ppl think to give fruit last but I don't agree with that.

My son is 6 months and he started solids about 3 weeks ago. I started with green beans, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, bananas and now onto apples. I found out that he has slightly low iron so I am going to give him a little oatmeal mixed with a fruit in the morning. I give a new food to him for 3-4 days and he is eating about 1.5-2 tablespoons 2x a day. I have read that you should give a food 10 times before determining your LO doesn't like it, not 10 days. My pedi told me that he won't starting eating 3 "meals" a day until closer to 9 months.
Each baby as they begin to eat gets some of what we're all having for the most part. For example my 6 month old tonight had tortellini with 2 meatballs, banana, and pumpernickel rye bread. He's only been eating table food for about 1 1/2-2 weeks. For breakfast this morning he had scrambled cheesy eggs, raw apple slices, and some waffle.
