  • AAAAAAHHHHHH! I have 11 days until we meet our babies!!!!!  I still have the same fears but am starting to actually get so excited and impatient to see what these little men look like.  I so hope that they are healthy and do well once they are on the outside, they've been troopers on the inside and are following all the rules they are supposed to so hoping they do the same once they are born.

I have another NST and fluid check on Monday, an OB appt and  NST on Thursday, and then the following Monday have my last NST and growth scan, along with pre-admission testing for the section the next day.  Babies have been taking turns being non reactive on the NSTs and I usually end up with a BPP.  I was in labor and delivery the other night for decreased movements again and of course on the monitor they were great.  Fluid is equal with both babies so things are looking good.  Thank god!

QOTW:  We picked out girls names within 20 minutes.  Boys names took 4 months.  And that was only after we found out they were boys that we started.  We were so sure they were girls!  We are keeping the names a secret until birth but the middle names we are using are our father's middle names.  My mom is so mad we won't tell her the names but she only has a little longer to wait so hopefully she'll forgive me.  lol

  • I'm almost 30 weeks!  My shower is tomorrow and I'm really excited for it.  Its co-ed so DH will be there and I'm glad we get to share the experience.  I don't have any appointments until January 3, but everything is going well.

We picked out LO's first name really easily.  I suggested it, DH agreed, and that was it!  Her middle name is a little tougher to choose, so we don't have that yet.
The name is a secret from everyone, but I slipped on Christmas while talking to DH.  I said her name in conversation and MIL overheard.  She's been upset we haven't shared the name so she was thrilled to hear it.  I'm really upset (probably more than I should be) that she and FIL know the name now, but there isn't much I can do.  We asked them not to tell anyone so hopefully they will honor our request.  I am sad that we didn't keep this a surprise to everyone.  With IF, our parents knew most of the treatments we tried and the results, and everyone knows LO's sex, so I was happy to have something that would be a surprise.  Here's hoping MIL doesn't blurt the name out at our shower!

  • Hi everyone, I'm 36w4days. At my appointment this week I was already 1.5-2 cm dilated and was closed last week so it's getting close! Also, last week we found out baby's weight dropped from 30th percentile to 11th so I have a repeat u/s on Monday. My OB said if weight isn't looking good they will induce me! I guess DH figured that out after we spoke last but I did not and was suddenly realizing we may have a baby next week! I don't want LO to have any problems but I would be fine getting to meet her soon!

QOTW: DH and I had a hard time with girls names but think we have it sorted. It will be secret until she is born but the grandparents are very impatient and trying to get it out of us!

    Hi Ladies,

Doing well here up in Boston. Will be 35 weeks on Tues. I'm feeling pretty well; my ankles are definitely swelling, especially after my 12 hour shifts at work (luckily only 2 a week)!! My BP is good which I was concerned about, but I just have to remember it's a normal process.

The baby's room is finally done being painted; and his rocker arrived this am. I don't think his crib snd dresser will be here until mid-Jan..... At least the room is cleared!!!

Tomorrow my work family is throwing me a shower; so excited!!!

I go for an u/s to f/u on lo's right kidney (mildly dilated at 28 weeks) on Thurdsay; I'll see my OB right after.

QOTW: We decided on Joshua Edwin; we both liked Joshua, and it was a "J" name. DH's late father was John as is his brother, and my DH is James; sticking with s "J", but a different one. Edwin is after my Dad.

Have a great week everyone !!

  • 36 weeks and 2 days and still hanging in there. Had several rough days with lots of cramps and bh contractions....the couch is becoming my best friend.

Had a good appointment yesterday....the OB's office was surprisingly quiet so I feel like we got to spend some extra time with the u/s tech and PA. The tech did say that I definitely still have a complete previa, but the bonus was getting to see baby girl again. We did a 3-D u/s this time and were able to see her moving her little mouth and it even looked like she was trying to suck on her fingers at one point. She has the cutest little button nose and very chubby cheeks! The tech estimated that she was already weighing in at 6 lbs. 8 ozs. so if we make it to the end I will be having another big baby!

Cervix is not effaced at all, but can't check to see if I'm dialated due to the risk of rupturing the placenta. The PA said that she was quite surprised I had made it past 35, and now to 36 weeks without another bleed and that, while it is possible to make it 3 more weeks, she wouldn't plan on it.  Feel a bit like a ticking time bomb. I need to finish packing my bag, but other than that we are ready so all we can do is sit, wait, and hope for the best.

We've decided on Harper Faith for our little girl. We both really liked Harper and feels like it fits our family and goes with DD #1's name. Faith is a nod to our struggles with 2IF.

  • Hello,

i am 36 weeks. I am not feeling great. I have protein in my urine again and docs cannot figure out why. My Blood pressure is a bit high, but not high enough for PreE. Also I had some glucose in my urine too. I feel overall pretty tired and bad. I am on restricted bed rest and I have to do a 24 hour urine collection. I have to go in for NST once a week and see the OB twice a week for a Blood Pressure check. I hope they figure it out soon, I do not feel well.

Out name is Gabriella Sofia. I am from Eastern Europe, so the name had to work in both languages and end on a vowel. The G letter is after my late father. Sofia is the name of the town I grew up in, so that is why we picked it. We will call her Gabi and my dd is Zoe, so I think they work well together. I cannot wait to meet her. 19 days and counting.

    Happy New 2014 to all!

  • Hi all! Sending hugs to those who need them!

I'm quickly approaching 32 weeks. DH is upstairs painting the nursery as I type this! I'm excited to have Christmas over with so that we can focus on getting ready for this LO to arrive. My showers are coming up in January, and we have a lot of work to do!

We have a check-up on Thursday and will hear the heartbeat again - yay! I'm still feeling pretty good but starting to get a little more uncomfortable every day...

QOTW: His name was easy for us because DH is the third, so this will be "the fourth." :)

    Hi Everyone.  I didn't get a chance to check-in yesterday.  I'm 34w1d today.

I had an OB appt. yesterday and it was uneventful (in a good way).  I asked OB if he thought that I should start packing my hospital bag just in case LO decides he's done cooking early (since it seems to be quite common around this board), but he said probably not.  I'm seriously terrified of delivering a 10+ lb. baby, but I have a feeling it's going to happen and I'll just have to relax enough to get through it.

In the meantime, we've been knocking things off the registry completion list (thank goodness for saving up a sh*tload of BBB & Bed Bath B*yond coupons; we saved $100 during our shopping spree without even having to touch the 10% completion coupon).  I've started washing some outfits and bedding for LO and am in nesting mode.  Now to get mentally ready during the 6 week wait...

QOTW:  The name issue is daunting.  DH really wants to name LO after himself because it's common in his family to name the firstborn after the father (or at least use a family name---and I am not a fan of any of those).  I'm trying to think of ways to do that because it will drive me crazy if I try to call multiple men to the dinner table and not get a response from either of them!  I may just refer to LO as "E.J." for DH's first name, jr.  We'll have to see once he's born...

My sister will flip out on me for naming after a living person, so if we go this route, I'm going to wait until he's delivered to announce it (I think it's Ashkenazi Jewish tradition to only name a baby after a deceased relative.)
Things would have been much easier if we were having a girl; we could have named her for DH's mother who passed away.  Oh well, here's hoping frostie #2 sticks in the future!
ETA: tried to fix paragraph spacing.  My computers never seem to register line spaces on TB!
