Mommy/baby groups

I want to get into a mommy and baby group but not sure how or where to find one? How have any if you found a group and if so what kinds of things do you do in it?

Re: Mommy/baby groups

  • Meetup.com. Story time to play dates. Free events or paid events.

  • Our local government offers free 'Baby' and 'Parenting' courses (which in a lot of cases were a joke) BUT it was wonderful for meeting other new Mom's and they encourage you to get together after the classes ended and we do! We now have a Facebook group and go swimming every Tuesday.  I'm so glad I signed up!

Check with your local hospital. That's where my group meets. It's run by two lactation consultants.

  • My local library has a baby program for free. Check there?
  • Babies R Us has meet ups and classes too.

  • I just moved, and they have cloth diaper stores in this city. They offer breastfeeding classes and meet ups. I plan to "go shopping" on the days they offer these groups.
