Intro and question for stm's

Hi. I've been lurking for awhile. Hubby and I are expecting a little iud surprise baby July 13. We have a 21 month old daughter. Umm...I had a failed induction with DD that ended in CS after 36 hrs. I'm hoping to vbac but can already tell my ob is gonna get on my case towards the end of this pregnancy. I'm looking into alternative care providers but I'm not sure that midwives are allowed to deliver at the hospital I will be at.

Anywho...my question for STM's is this. Has anyone felt any movement yet? I'm 11wks5days. When I sat down at work tonight I crossed my legs and was bent towards the table. I also had my jeans still buttoned so there was a lot of squishing in my pelvis. And I swear I felt butterfly flutters. But it just seems so early. I'm just wondering what the chances were. I truly don't remember when I first felt DD.

Anyways. So that's that. Tia!

  • Welcome to the board and congrats!

I feel twinges, too, but I think it's definitely too early to feel movement. I believe most other STMs will tell you it's not usually until 16 weeks. I don't really remember with DD either, but I know it wasn't this early! With my first set of twins I think I didn't feel definitive kicking until 20 weeks. Stopped me in my tracks!

But hey, you usually don't show this early and here I am, rocking a bump, so maybe anything's possible. ;)

  • I'm only 10 weeks so no baby movement but I've felt little muscle twitches that feel similar to what baby flutters do. I don't think it's impossible at 11 weeks, but usually more unlikely.
  • I am 11 weeks and have felt bubbles but I still think it is gas bubbles at this point

This is just my second, so I'm not sure about feeling movement personally as I didn't feel it till a bit later with dd. I had her placenta on the front so that can change things. When I talked to the midwife about movement last pregnancy she said it was easier to recognize the 2nd time around. In some people she said they felt it as early as 12-13 weeks faintly, and had heard the babies kicking the Doppler so it was entirely possible. For me gas bubbles can be a bit misleading, and I got my first true movement at 18 weeks. Everyone is unique. I figure you have a pretty good idea what your body is like, and especially if baby was a bit squished it's totally possible!
  • You know, I think I have but I really don't know. I didn't feel DD until really late so it's strange.

  • Last week doctor said I might expect to feel movement in the next month being a STM (but obviously if I don't it's fine too). So of course now I'm constantly trying to feel the little guy move. Still nothing yet. Even my wishful thinking isn't swaying me, lol.

  • I'm 10weeks and I have a 10month old. No movement here yet but nice little bump starting :)
