I went to the ER last night after having abdominal pain for 24 hours. They diagnosed me with a bladder infection, gave me antibiotics in my iv and had me do a follow up with my dr's office this morning if the pain was still there because they weren't positive what's causing the pain.
My regular Dr was out so I saw a different one and he wasn't very helpful. When he pressed on my stomach near my ovaries it brought tears to my eyes it was so painful. He switched my antibiotics because he said he doesn't think it's a bladder infection. He also said pregnant women just have strong tightness (it's like a rubber band around my stomach) and stomach pain. He acted like I was being so dramatic.
Do you/have you felt this kind of pain or the tightness? I don't want to overreact but I'm still concerned that it hurts like this 2 days later. Sorry this is so long!
Re: Do you have pain and tightness?
Try not to worry, though. It sounds like he was pressing right where the round ligaments are. I would think, yeah, that would hurt like a biotch.
I do have some tightness/pulling/pain going on, but it's been either RLP, cramping or gas. Nothing to the point of bringing me to tears, and I'm a baby butt and can't handle pain.
My point is I knew something wasn't right and even though the doctors couldn't find anything there was something wrong. Keep going to the hospital or calling your doctor until you get answers.
It'd be great if he had been pressing on my round ligaments, at least it'd give me an answer to why it hurt so much. I'm so sore now, it's like I've done 100 sit ups. I could probably do better with my water intake though. I'll up that this weekend while I wait for her to get back in the office on Monday. Fingers crossed that will make all the difference!
Sorry you are hurting and hope you get it all fixed up!

I've been on them for 4 days and I feel better. I really want to stop taking them. I hate meds and more so antibiotics.
I'm just sharing bc my pain was pretty bad and I could have mistaken a UTI for RLP had it not hurt to pee.
Good luck and feel better soon!
