Radian Owners

Does anybody know what the actual definition of forcefully braced is? Ours touches the driver's seat enough that it makes the car seat slightly more upright and I'm assuming that it's not OK. I tried asking on Car Seats for the Littles, but hoping someone else may have looked into this.

Re: Radian Owners

  • I've always been told that it can not touch at all. Do you have the angle adjuster? It's about $10 on amazon and makes a huge difference!

  • The Radian is one of the car seats that is allowed to touch depending on whether it's OK with your car manufacturer. We do have the AA, but we seriously have the smallest backseat ever. Without the AA I don't think we would even be able to install in the middle. I think we'll end up having to put it in the middle, but I was hoping for behind the driver's seat instead.

  • I know nothing about Radians but wanted to say congrats @cherrycrepe, I don't know when you announced but I just noticed. :)

  • Yes, the Radian does allow bracing. From how I understand it, it's ok if they touch, but it's not ok if the adult seat in the car moves the Radian into a different position. So, from how you've described it, I don't think your install is correct as is. Do you have a place where you could have it inspected? They could most likely say for sure.
This exactly. We had to buy the AA because we were touching like you described and that was not allowed.
