Re: UO

  • I hate when people get married in a church.

It's so much easier when they do the ceremony at the reception hall. Lead my ass right into the party after you say I Do. ;)

I don't care about nails/nail polish/nail art. I get so annoyed when people pin a bazillion nail designs on Pinterest because it clogs up my feed. I chip my nails in 5 minutes and think its a huge waist of time and money to paint them all fancy.

Also I hate professional massages. I only like massages from my husband.

I only "love" the nail portion. I love professional massages!
  • yeah, Christmas is stressing me out these days too.   We live far away from family, so we have tons of people to see during the holidays and put in a lot of road time.  LO is not himself because his routine is all off and I feel kinda of ragged.   I fantasize about spending Christmas at home with just LO and DH.    Trying to be more thankful though and less of bah hum bug myself.

This will be super UO but I've decided I don't like Christmas. I'm Christian and fairly religious so I love the meaning of Christmas and I believe it is sacred but actually going through the motions of family Christmas kinda sucks. Every year I will now be celebrating 5 family Christmases and the chaotic nature of getting food ready and wrapping gifts has taken all of the fun out of it for me. You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch...

My UO today is that I think all the high tech gadgets -soda stream, keurig makers etc are a waste of money. IMO, there is nothing better than a cold can of sprite and a nice hot cup of brewed coffee.

I agree with the Keurig. We got rid of ours and went back to a regular coffee maker. I love the smell of fresh brewed coffee
We still have our keurig but I got the one my mil has for Christmas yesterday and I love it better than the keurig.

My Sodastream is my FAVORITE. I use it multiple times a day for carbonated water.
  • Love my Keurig for the fun drinks-cocoa, cider, lattes. We use our regular coffee brewer for pots of coffee.
  • I hate the whole eat like a pig (sorry if the term offends someone) mantality at Christmas time. Then everyone has the loose weight resolution. I just don't see how people can eat so many chocolates and baking. I get sick after a couple.

Some people like me love sweets. I can eat a ton of sweets and have always been able to. FTR, eating sweets doesn't = needing to be on a diet :)

I agree, I guess more what I was saying was people who eat boxes and boxes of chocolate and then complain about being fat afterwards. If we just ate stuff in moderation it wouldn't be so bad.

It was not coming across how I wanted.

I should of wrote my UO as I don't like chocolate.

I know it's the festive season but when you pop round for a tipple
This is something I need to start doing. Like now. Or just start saying. Either way.
I had to read that 4-5 times to figure out what she meant. LOL. @lolalipsy is there any sayings that we say over here in North America that you don't 'get'?

As a Muslim, I would prefer if people stopped saying happy holidays. It's not like people say Merry Christmas with ill intent. They are genuinely hoping I have a good day. I don't celebrate, but I'm well aware that a lot of people do. I don't need to be shielded. I don't want K shielded either. When I was in school, I would just go elsewhere for Christmas and Halloween parties. Nobody had to tiptoe around me. Me, the Jehovah's Witness, and the Jewish kid made it our own thing. It builds character to know hat shit is not always custom to you.

Eta shit was in the wrong place
I have always said happy holidays, not out of sensitivity, but bundling christmas and new years together.  Several people have been like "you can say merry christmas" and it took me a while to figure out what they meant.  My jewish friends all got my card that said "merry christmas" and I didn't think twice about it.  I would like for them to have a great December 25th every year!

I'd put a Movember mustache fail, but then
you'd all have to look at it until February.
  • @oohgurl There are definitely a few but I can't think of them off hand.
