STM+ Recommend your Pregnancy Pillow

Last time around I used a cheapo body pillow during pregnancy, and at the end, a regular pillow behind my back.  It worked OK but I wasn't very comfortable by the end of PG.  This time around I'm looking to buy something slightly better quality that will hopefully help me sleep better.

As I'm starting to already get uncomfortable sleeping this time around, and I got a gift card to Walmart from a family member, so I'm thinking of using it to buy a pregnancy pillow.  Anyone have recommendations (I'm hoping that it will cost no more than 50 dollars or so)?

I'm specifically looking at the Boppy Cuddle Pillow, the Sealy Sweet Pea 2-in-1 Maternity and Nursing Pillow, and the Sleeper Keeper Mini Maternity Pillow by Leachco.  Anyone have thoughts about any of these specifically?

Thanks!

Re: STM+ Recommend your Pregnancy Pillow

  • Ok, I had the hoppy cuddly pillow and returned it, it was horribly uncomfortable! The leachco pillow took up WAY too much room in the bed. I had two different styles of pillows from leachco and one went under your head which I hated and the other went around both sides of your body which was HUGE! In the end I would either use a body pillow and a pillow behind my back or my pregnancy wedge and a pillow between my knees. It is ALL personal preference though.

  • I'm not a second time mom but I can tell you that I got the snoogle for Christmas, and after sleeping with it for just one night, I already know it will be my new best friend for the next 5 months. I usually toss and turn all night, and since entering the 2nd trimester I've been waking up and having trouble getting back to sleep every night. Last night felt like the best night sleep I've ever had. I woke up in the exact same position that I fell asleep in, cuddled around the snoogle. Even my husband commented on how peaceful I slept! I'm already looking forward to going to bed tonight with my new friend lol. It cost just over $50.
  • So the problem with the body pillow was it wasn't "puffy" enough.  I felt like I would need two or 3 of them between my knees to really be comfortable.  I was hoping to get a good, puffy pregnancy pillow for under my stomach and between my knees and then a regular pillow for behind my back.  Because I didn't want a huge pillow, either.

  • The Snoogle is a space hog, but it's awesome. I used it with DS and am glad I saved it for this pregnancy. Not sure if Walmart carries it, I know BRU does.

This! All the pillows on my bed are pregnancy pillows....I sleep with about 7 fluffy pillows around me for support. I sleep on both sides and this has worked best. I have a boppy but it's not fluffy enough.

  • I'm a FTM who got a snoogle for Christmas, and it's amazing! I've had it for a week already bc of an early family Christmas, and my husband keeps wanting to steal it!
  • I so need a pillow. The snoogle seems good but how is it for the part you use as a pillow. My pillow is flat. I hate puffy pillows so was not sure if this would annoy me or not.

I am a side sleeper. Always have to sleep on my left side but lately I am getting uncomfortable and my hand is numb when I wake up. I have been told possible Carple tunnel but it has not bothered me in a long time.

  • Never used one with my first pregnancy and so far I don't feel like I need one. We have an adjustable base under our mattress and that always helped if I needed extra support
  • I just order the Sleeper Keeper Mini because I have read several reviews on how perfect it is for us short pregnant girls! I'm 5'1" and all of the other pillows apparently are way too long for us to be able to take advantage of the pillow portion that is supposed to go between your legs for knee and pelvis support. It's supposed to arrive today so I'll keep you posted :-)

  • I'm a FTM but I also got the snoogle. I've had it for about 3-4 weeks and it has been AWESOME. I'm finally getting a restful sleep and my back pain is lessening. It is big (I have a king sized bed so I don't mind...) but if you have the space I'd highly recommend it. I got it from a friend who used it through her pregnancy too and I haven't found any issue with it going flat (it's so full and fluffy that I can't imagine it being any fuller without the seams bursting).
  • Hated the Snoogle, just a regular body pillow works best for me.

I'm also 5'1 and looking for a pillow please let me know how you like it ! :)
  • Any opinions on the Snoogle vs the Snoogle mini? We don't have a lot of extra room in our bed so I was considering the mini one but not sure it if will be as wonderful....

  • So all you Snoogle lovers have convinced me.  I'll try out the Snoogle (got great reviews online too).  Thanks for all the input!
