bathtub question

we have always used an infant tub in our kitchen sink for bath time.  our kitchen sink is large and deep.  LO sits up very well but when he is in the sink without his infant tub he slips all over the place.  was wondering if there is anything that will fit in the sink to help him stay upright?? also considering moving baths to the tub but afraid he will slip and slide in there too.  any suggestions??  TIA!

Re: bathtub question

  • We do baths in the tub.  We use this bathtub.

It goes from newborn to toddler.  It has a part for her to sit up in and allows the support needed without Lily slipping around a lot.  We got it in the blue in case baby #2 is a boy.

  • I'm not sure how big your sink is but many of those devices to help them sit up/ recline (even ones that are supposedly marketed for sinks) are always too big for my sink. I have a double sink with one side larger than the other. I've purchased 2 diff devices and neither fit. I would go with non slip stickies or a mat or something. I'm still using the tub on the kitchen counter (bad back and can't maneuver my 22 lb baby well hunched over the tub). Not sure how long we will be able to do this but I'm hoping til he can bathe himself. Kidding. Sort of ;)
  • @nykkolaughs is that tub pretty easy to fill? I've read some reviews where people said they had a hard time filling the tub with the water spout because the tail or the head got in the way.

  • @amberdt03 we have the same duck tub. My SO filled it the first time and said it was a little difficult because the spout not coming out far enough but I've always used the detachable shower head we have to fill the tub even when we were using the hard plastic one.

  • Once dd could sit up we got a non slip bath mat. She still uses it, but since DS still likes to toss himself backwards occasionally, he's still in his little seat.
  • Ella splashes too much for a sink or counter! We just upgraed from the typical plastic reclining tub to this one! image

Wehave this one too! DS1 loved it and used it for a long time. We have a shower head that can come off the wall, so I used that to fill it. After DS1 outgrew this tub, I just had him in the big tub with a mat to stop him from sliding around.

  • We're going to either use a non slip mat or bath seat in the tub very soon we've gone through numerous tubs and I hate them all

  • I was hoping to get some ideas from this post, but what do you all recommend for someone who does not have any room for one of those tubs?

We currently have this, and I use it a bit in the bath tub (we used to do baths in the sink, but it is easier to fill up the tub than the sink):

It says to use it up to six months, but LO is not sitting up yet so I am lost!

Also, I usually just get in the tub with her since I find it so annoying to bend over the actual tub.  Am I the only crazy one doing this?
