Sleep regression??

For the past 3 or so weeks, maybe 3-4 nights a week, DS will wake up at 2, 3 or 4am, first just whimpering. When he gets to full-on crying (about 10 mins or so) either I or DH will go in and pick him up and try to rock him back to sleep, but he just cries, throws his head back, changes positions in our arms and just generally won't settle down. He'll be like this for about 2 hours straight. DH is taking him the the dr today to rule out ear infection. And of course it could be teething or a stuffy nose, but we'll give him Tylenol and even that doesn't seem to help his comfort level. We're on night #3 in a row. I. Am. Exhausted. Anyone else going through this with LO?! I'm thinking of sticking something under his mattress to prop one end up so he doesn't lie flat on his back - maybe that will help if it's teething/ear pain/stuffy nose? I'd love to hear any other suggestions!

Re: Sleep regression??

  • Its been about a month of that here. It's like he becomes possessed in the middle of the night. The back arching, the screaming, the inconsolability. It is finally starting to get better. I think it was a combination of growing physically, language development, and 4 molars all coming at once. I find gripe water to be the biggest helper. Good luck! I hope it ends quickly for you.
