@sammer818 Thanks for the bubbly! I'm glad things are moving along without any issues. I hope that your surrogate is able to start the injections as planned.

Update: My plan for this cycle was to restart the femara and HCG trigger and was originally told that we could do that around the holidays as long as my period started within a short range of dates.  When I called the RE's office to tell them that it was CD1, the nurse said that the office decided to NOT have anyone cycle during the 2 weeks including Christmas and New Years'.  I understand that they don't want to do it for liability reasons, but it's just really frustrating that I'm getting pushed back again and it's totally out of my control and for reasons not even related to my body. I wish she had told me when they found out so I wouldn't be anticipating restarting on meds.

On the bright side, my foot is feeling a little better. I can't run on it yet, but at least it doesn't hurt with each step I take.

QOTW: I don't think I'm going to make a New Years resolution this year. I did make a resolution several years ago when I was in college to regularly go to the gym and I kept up with it. I don't have a gym membership now, so I just exercise at home.

ETA. While I'm not doing a new year's resolution, I am doing a Day Zero project where you set 101 goals/things to do in 1001 days. I saw this on Uneek's blog and decided to start my own.

  • Hi ladies...

@sammer818 I'm glad to hear that things are moving along for you! and I love your resolutions, very creative.

@luciddreamer so frustrating that you got pushed! forgive me if this is a stupid question, but what are the liability issues? when will you start the challenge?

@snegde fx for a positive soon! I'll be checking for updates

first of all, as always, please excuse my lack of punctuation. honestly, I'm too lazy to go back and correct it all.

I've been meditating, eating well, and exercising more, so I've been feeling ok. with cd1 on Christmas, dh asked if I felt like it was time to go back to RE ( it's now been a year since we started ttc after last loss). blah.....I just don't know. both of the 2 REs I saw have relocated, which is good to get a new set of eyes, but frustrating bc I'll be starting over with someone

    I just don't know

@sammer818 that is sooo close!! Glad things are moving along & FX for your surrogate to start the injections!

@snegde ((( hugs ))) I just hope you see some progress this route. FX for you love :x

@luciddreamer106 sorry things are delayed because of the holidays. ugh. >:D<

@rachaelhudson that's frustrating. I'm glad you see the positivity (fresh eyes) if you go back to the RE. ((Hugs))

As for me, nothing new. I'm in the 2ww, so really just trying to contain the crazy. I've had a cold for a little more than a week & I'm ready for it to leave. Hope everybody else stays healthy & avoids the crud. Hugs all
    around.

ETA: no NYE plans, I'm working NYE & NYDay. Resolution will be to exercise & watch what I eat--the normal run of the mill goal. Sigh.

  • @sammer818 yay for moving forward!!

@luciddreamer106 that is so frustrating about your doctors office!!  FX for next cycle.

@snedge I'm glad you have a plan & keep moving forward!  It's always great when family members can be supportive in the way that we want them to!  Go Mom!  I love the idea of goals and going over them together.

@rachaelhudson I'm glad you've been getting healthier & feeling better!

As for me, no new updates.  Just enjoying the time with friends & family and my vacation.  Just over 2 weeks until my hysteroscopy so I'm just trying to distract myself until then.  I hope everyone has/had a great holiday season :)

As for NY Resolutions I'm planning on getting back on track with exercise & eating healthy.  A couple of years ago I lost 20 lbs in 5 months doing this and plan to do it again.  After 3 losses I've gained it all back (booo).  So I'll be looking to start Insanity again, hopefully this week, and to incorporate more fruits & veggies into my daily routine.  I find that when I'm focusing on eating more fruits and vegetables then I don't have time/room for the crap I've been eating and I tend to eat a lot of protein naturally.  Also cutting back further on my alcohol consumption.  That's really grey though so I don't know what that means exactly.

  • Hey ladies :)

@sammer818 - good luck with everything on the 9th!  How exciting!  So happy for you that things are moving along :)

@luciddreamer106 - glad to hear your foot is better but, ugh - I'm sorry about the unexpected changes. It's one of the most frustrating aspects to all of this - those parts that are just beyond our control and dependent on other people and other outside influences :(

@snegde - i'm glad your mom has been able to be a support to you - TTCAL is so hard on so many different family relationships - I'm really glad she is able to be there for you in the way that she can be.  I think it's good that you are being proactive in terms of requesting the u/s - I don't have any advice or input on when to do it.  I hope that you're able to proceed in a way you feel more comfortable with even though it sounds like your RE isn't on board with the monitoring.  Good luck with it and please keep us updated - I am thinking of you!

@rachelhudson - yay for the meditating and other healthy changes!  I have found a great deal of comfort in meditating also although I don't give myself the time I need to do it enough.  And (((hugs))) about the thought of starting over.  I know it must be hard to think of starting over with someone new but at the same time it might feel good to get a fresh set of eyes on things as you said.  All the best in what you decide.

@KMW08 - good luck with this cycle!  And with keeping the 2WW crazies at bay!  And I hope you're feeling better from your cold!

@jap618 - hi!!  glad you're hysteroscopy isn't too far off and good luck with the distractions until then!

Update:  After a lot of discussing, ruminating, sleepless nights, crying, praying, and pretty much tearing myself apart, we finally decided to move forward with switching insurance plans and going for IVF.

I'm feeling really good about that now - more so because we're taking the steps to do everything we possibly can - but I feel much less confident than DH that it will actually result in our having our rainbow.  But I'm surprisingly more okay with that than I expected to be - I realized that my big hang up has been more about not knowing what the "right" decision is and just coming to a decision has taken a huge, huge weight off of me.  Now I know, even if I miscarry again or don't get pregnant again, I will take comfort in the fact that we did everything we were able to.  Which is better than not trying this and continuing to have losses or not get pregnant again.

I'm just worried now about a couple things.  One thing is that I realized RIGHT after I made 100% sure I was signed up in time to get in for the 1/1/14 coverage deadline that I signed up for the wrong plan.  Way to go there Anita!  I misunderstood the terms of the plan and thought that by a $6,000 individual & $12,000 family deductible that meant that once I incurred $6k myself that the insurance would kick in for me (which would be everything covered 100% at that point).  But no, no, no - because I'm signing up my family vs. signing up as an individual, the $12,000 would have to be met before it would kick in for *any*one!  Whooops!!!  Kind of a big misunderstanding there!!  So now I have to call the carrier ASAP tomorrow morning and see if I can switch it and still be able to have it effective 1/1.  I hope I can since I did the whole application process in time and I am at the point where the carrier is supposed to contact me and make arrangements for my first payment.  I haven't paid anything yet and it's in that "transition" phase so I think I should be okay.

As a precaution I haven't canceled my policy through work yet since I have until Tue to do that.  I just wanted to have the 100% confirmation that there wouldn't be any issues with our enrollment before I cancelled that one.  So at this point, until Tue, I could still back out of the whole plan.

I'll save the other worry for another day ;)  That's enough to worry about for now.  And the fact that I've got to get DH's test redone again tomorrow morning because it will still fall under the other insurance if I do it tomorrow and the RE said he wanted it to be redone to check the motility issue again.  So I have to run around before work doing that as well as calling the insurance company and just get to work as soon as I can.  I hate having to be late to work without being able to tell my boss in advance :(:(

QOTW:  No, I'm probably not going to do any official type of resolution based on the date.  I do absolutely love NY day though - it's my favorite holiday because it always feels like a fresh start.  So I am going to try to start to get back to exercising (again!!!) and get in 2x a day somehow.  It's the best thing I can do for my body before we start this process, hopefully in February.  So I'm just going to do everything I can to lose weight.  No, have never kept a resolution I said I would :(

Happy New Year to all you amazing ladies!  Hoping we all have a great year ahead!

@sammer818 Everything's getting so close! FX the time flies by and your surrogate starts her injections.
@Luciddreamer106 Ugh, I'm sorry you're getting pushed back. That is one of the most frustrating things I've gone through, and it sucks. I'm sorry.
@snegde I'm glad your mom is being supportive. And FX for a positive OPK soon.
@rachaelhudson GL deciding what you and YH want to do regarding the RE. And I'm glad you've been feeling better. I've been trying to get into meditation since September... sometimes I can get into it, most times I can't. Is there anything specific that you listen to?
    @KMW08 FX for you!
    @jap618 FX for your procedure!
@anitaflora Congrats with making the decision to move forward with IVF, I understand how daunting it can be. Of course, feel free to ask me any questions you have, if you want. And sorry about the mix up. FX it all gets straightened up quickly

As for me, I started my Lupron injections on the 27th to start suppressing my hormones. Despite being on BCP, I've been having spotting and light bleeding on and off since the 25th, which I hope isn't a big issue. On the 3rd I stop BCP (which should bring some more bleeding) and on the 6th I start my stim injections- so excited! My first monitoring u/s is on the 11th. FX I don't develop any OHSS (ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome) this time. I am armed with gatorade and protein just in case.

QOTW: I usually don't make resolutions, or at least no formal planning for anything, so I don't have anything major that I'm thinking of. I do want to try to think more positively this year. I;m typically pretty anxious and negative, so I want to try and lighten up a bit. I also want to start eating a bit healthier. I snack way too much.

    Everyone welcome on my posts

  • @snegde Now that you’re done with clomid, I hope that the headaches have gone away. Good luck with the IUI! I have no advice on which day you should schedule the monitoring. I’m glad that your mom is being supportive. It’s so hard to share news like that when you’re not sure how the person is going to react.

@rachaelhudson The nurse didn’t specify, but I think the issue would be if I developed a cyst or too many follicles and being able to time the HCG trigger.  I started the challenge at the end of August and it’s been a work in progress, but I’ve already been able to cross off a few items on the list. Sorry for CD1 on Christmas. :( It sounds like making those lifestyle changes is making a positive effect.

@KMW08 I hope you feel better soon. Good luck for the 2WW!

@jap618 The time for your hysteroscopy will be here before you know it. I hope that everything looks beautiful in there.

@anitaflora Congrats on making the decision to move forward with IVF! I’m sure it was a really difficult decision for you to make. I’m glad that you discovered the misunderstanding before it was too late. FX that you can make the changes without any hiccups.

@jbasore1123 Good luck with the injections and u/s! I have everything crossed for you that this works out well.

  • @sammer818 - I'm glad everything is moving so quickly! FX that things continue to go smoothly.

@luciddreamer106 - That is just frustrating! How hard would it have been for them to call their patients and let them know they were cancelling all cycles for that time period?

@snegde - I hope the headaches cleared up quickly after stopping the clomid. What did you decide on the u/s?

@rachaelhudson - (((hugs))) the whole process can be so frustrating and exhausting. I have not bothered to get a new RE since the move. The idea just makes me tired at this point.

@KMW08 - I think I caught your cold. Hope you are feeling better and the 2WW is being nice to you.

@jap618 - Good luck with your resolution and I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your friends and family!

@anitaflora - I am so happy you are at peace with your decision! I hope you are able to get your insurance straightened out.

    @jbasore1123 - FX for you!

My update - Not much to report.  Still continuing with non-medicated, non-monitored cycles.  DH is going to check this month with human resources on what the adoption benefits are that are offered by his company. Once we find that out we will look at next steps.

On the non-TTCAL front, I finally was picked up on a document review. The project will last two to three months. This will be the first time that I will have a job that pays me for my degree! Yay!  That jobs starts on Jan. 8th so until then I'm cramming in a lot of outline preparation for my bar studying.  Luckily, DH has already accepted that weekends form now on are going to involve me sitting at the table doing multiple choice questions and practice essays and everything else study related.

Resolutions - I'm not sure I really have any resolutions for this year. Part of my study plan was to have me start going for daily walks again. On days I work I'm terrible about making time for a walk.  I also have zero exercise gear for cold weather and have been using that as an excuse. I also want to eat healthier especially since so much of my "free" time will be spent sitting at a table.

One goal that I do have for 2014 is to learn to knit. It's cold hear and I am bound and determined to knit myself a scarf!

  • @sammer818 - wonderful news, glad things are moving quickly. Hope your appt next week goes well!

@luciddreamer106 - so sorry you got pushed back a cycle. I thought REs offices had to be open all the time? What a PITA. I have a 101 list too! Mine expires this year though. I'd love to check out your list!

@snegde - Hey lady, you have an appt coming up? Today? Find out when your IUI is? This is the earliest you've had a positive test right? Hurray! I'm glad your mom is a great source of support for you.

@rachaelhudson - so sorry for CD1, (((hugs))) What meditation would you recommend?

@kmw08 - thanks again for all your advice on the other post. Hope your cold is going away and you are feeling better.

@jap618 - Hope you are enjoying the end of your vacation, and good luck with your goals!

@anitaflora - I am so glad you came to a decision you are happy with. My husband and I had a similar roundabout discussion and came to the same conclusion. We want to try absolutely everything, just so we KNOW we tried all options. Even if we fail, we'll never go back and say "what if?" I think that is very important. Lots of (((hugs))) and strength for 2014!

@jbasore1123 - Lots happening these next few days. Sending good vibes to you!

@buggirl72 - Congrats on the document review! FX that your husband's company offers some type of adoption support.

Wow. Lots of things happening in January ladies. Busy month.

I just started my last unmedicated cycle. If I get AF the end of this month I will start on Clomid and have an IUI. I'm not temping again this cycle. It honestly seems pointless as my cycles are pretty clockwork and it causes too much stress. I'll use OPKs to help us out and bang it out per usual.

We leave for Germany next week for 10 days so I'll probably miss the next Wine & Cheese party. I'll make sure to eat some Bier and Brats for everyone. :)  I can't wait! I had to work through the entire holiday and I need a break.

QOTW. Like Luciddreamer and Uneek, I have a 101 list I did a few years ago. Probably take a few things off the list. I want to get back to a regular workout schedule, and we are going to start a savings account for fertility treatments. If we don't end up using it, we'll put it towards something else.

  • @jenkellen and @jbasore1123. Sorry for the late response about the meditation. I just use my phone to look up guided meditations on YouTube. I started with searching for guided anxiety meditations and choosing ones that were only 3 to 5 minutes.

I'm also dabbling in holistic type stuff so I'll search chakra meditations. Searching for guided fertility meditations also brings several good results.

Lately- I've been practicing 5 to 10 minutes silent meditation, simply focusing on sensation of my breath through my nose, if that makes sense. It gives me focus for when my mind wonders, which happens often ( and is normal and part of the process)

  • @buggirl72 Good luck with the studying! Thinking about taking the next step is hard. I hope you’re able to get the information you need.

@jenkellen FX that you won’t need to move on to clomid+IUI. I hope you have a great time on your trip and are able to relax as much as you want. My 101 list is in my blog, I started it initially to keep track of my progress and it’s evolved from there. How’s your list coming along? Do you think you’ll be able to complete it?
