Trouble TTC

Good Things From 2013?

Hello 3T ladies.

I was blogging (I know ... I am a generally inattentive blogger but something struck me today) and one of the things I was writing about was all the good things that happened in 2013.  Sometimes I feel like it was a terrible year because of all of the IF stuff, but it was kind of nice to sit down and remember some of the good things that came out of this year.

So....anyone want to share some good things that happened to you in 2013?

I hope you all have a wonderful new year and that 2014 brings us all BFPs and happy healthy pregnancies.

  • Loading the player...
  • I'll join in since I'm tying to focus on the positive things right now (at this point I have to force myself, but hopefully it will start to come more naturally).
The highlights of 2013 were: a fun trip to Vegas for my hubby's birthday, a surprise Disneyland day on our anniversary, and finding a bit of comfort in the support I've received from the few people I've confided in about our struggles TTC.
Here's to a great 2014 for all of us!

    image
    TTC since 4/2012
Started testing 5/2013: all clear, official diagnosis is "unexplained infertility"
7/2013: first round of Clomid + TI
8/2013: more bloodwork, low progesterone, low estradiol
    9,10,11,12/2013: TI + hcg injections 3,5,7,9DPO
    1/2014: Clomid + hcg trigger + TI
2/2014: Clomid + hcg trigger + TI, natural cycle due to cyst
    3/2014: Clomid + hcg trigger + IUI #1
    4/2014: hcg trigger + IUI #1.2
    5,6/2014: on a mental/emotional health break
    7/2014: hcg trigger + IUI #1.3
8/2014: first succesful IUI! (but no bfp)
    9/2014: IUI #2
    10/2014: hcg + IUI #3
11/2014: SHG (fibroid not an issue)
    12/2014: Clomid + hcg + IUI #4
    1/2015: Clomid + hcg + Estrace + IUI #5

  • My husband who has been an unemployed student (graduated in December 2012) got a job in March.
We bought a house that we love in June.
We adopted a wonderful Furbaby (Layla the miniature schnauzer) that we love in July.
I delivered my first baby (I'm and L&D RN) on Christmas.
Good luck to all of us in 2014!
  • My sister got married to a great guy in June, and it was in Disney! I had a great time with my family enjoying the trip & festivities. My DH surprised me with a trip to Belize for my 30th birthday! We hadn't planned a summer trip like we normally do because we had hoped we'd be KU...so it was a nice surprise to distract me from IF.. My business keeps growing & I love the new ventures I'm on. We remodeled our kitchen and our home is almost complete, it's so nice to enjoy all the sweat equity we put into it.

  • It's really nice to see all the good things that have happened to people this year.  My whole family has stayed healthy and safe this year (for which I am extremely grateful) and DH and I got to take a few days off together in February to go on a vacation (which never happens).  Other than that, 2013 has been, as I told my BFF the other day, "pretty shitty" personally (see my siggy for details), in my marriage (IF has been taking its toll and DH has had the schedule from hell all year), and at work (working for 2 bosses who act like a divorced couple).  But seeing all these great things from other people gives me hope for 2014.

However, this tough year did prompt one huge (for me) change.  I've worn my hair in a shoulder-length bob for years (literally, since like elementary school).  A couple weeks ago I couldn't take life anymore and got my hair chopped off COMPLETELY.  Like boy short.  And it's been totally liberating.  I feel hot, and edgy, and I hate to say it, I sort of loved the attention I got when I did it.  So new haircut, new year.
    Baby girl N born 10/29/14!

  • Can't double space bc I'm on my ipad. GREAT THINGS OF 2013 -*-*-*- 1)FINALLY got a diagnosis for what was going on with me health wise, I had my first flare up to my autoimmune disease I didn't know I had, and am thankful it wasn't a zoonotic disease. 2)thankful for my amazing doctoral staff to help me with all my health concerns and my new RE who is this tiny bundle of energy! 3)my husband got a new job at a nursing home this year and the residents LOVE him 4) glad to be settling into our new house, it's a 60's funky ranch with huge vaulted beam ceilings, it's got orange shag, but I'm so excited for the upcoming renovations. 5) super glad with my job with animals and I love working with a local university in the summer. 6) getting to go to the Ohio wildlife rehabilitation conference this year (my first time) and learning so so much to further my career and knowledge 7) the best part of my year -my skunkers, with this year being my first year to rehab, I loved every minute of it. I'm so grateful I was able to have that experience and can't wait until the spring for my next litter. . 2013 was a hard IF year for us, a lot of time DH AND I feel like we're in slow motion and everyone one around us is passing us by. . 2014 has GOT to be better, there's no negativity allowed. I hope we all get our bfps we need and have a great year.

  • *friend's baby mentioned*

    In chronological order

    1) Hubby found a full-time job. Not the best job in the world, but he had previously been laid-off for a year, and when he did find work after a year of searching it was only for a temp company that gave him 3 days a week, sometimes less! A year after working that temp job, he found his current job.

    2) Got married!!! <3

    3) Our friends who had been struggling with IF for many years had their little girl (via ICIS/FET)! Their little girl = hope for us :)

    4) Bought our first home!

    5) Started going to the RE. Hopefully our app. on the 30th will finally give us a game plan!!
