RSV kiddos

I know there was a bunch of it last year, but we escaped until now. L just got diagnosed along with an ear infection. So she is on amoxacillin and breathing treatments. The doc said just give it time, but how long were your kids down and out?

Also, I am pretty pissed at my family right now. Our giant family gathering was this weekend and she clearly caught it there. I am so mad that someone showed up and infected how ever many people. The count is up to 7 now, L being the only baby. Awesome.

Kid #1 - 09/03/12
Kid #2 - maybe???
Diagnosed with Severe Ashermans
Hysteroscopy #10 - scar tissue grew back reblocking my right tube
#11 or IVF with scarring still inside?

Re: RSV kiddos

  • Oh yikes, I'm sorry she's sick. Well, my LO was hospitalized with it, so I'm probably not the best judge, but including the few days in the hospital, I would say a week. I think being at the hospital sped up her healing though. I hope she feels better soon!

  • Lo was sick about 1-2 weeks and in tiny babies it's more serious and more times they are hospitalized. Don't be too upset though with your family, in adults RSV is just a cold/virus you aren't sick enough to be down and out needing breathing treatments like the little ones unless you already have lung issues..sorry LO is sick hopefully will be feeling better in a couple days after the medicine starts kicking in.

  • Penny was sick for a week or two. It was only really bad for a week though.

  • I don't think it's as dangerous this year as it was last year for our babes. Colby was hospitalized for 2 days, he had it abnormally long. About 3 days of sick in the beginning, 7 absolutely awful days in the middle and then another 5 or 6 days of recuperating. It felt 10x worse because keagan was really sick at the same time. Glad that you got L in to see he doctor and she is on treatments, she will be feeling better before you know it!

  • Jasper had it last year also. I think it was kinda rough for about a week or so-- my family has a terrible history with asthma though, so jasper may have had more complications because of shirty genes. The runny nose extra cuddling lasted maybe another week or so? I hope she feels better soon-the breathing treatments really helped us, so hopefully things will be on the up and up for you!
