I have a new development and it is throwing me for a loop- I'm a FTM, 15 weeks pregnant and the past 2 evenings my belly button has been protruding. As in, it doesn't look like MY belly button and is taking a new shape due to my growing waistline. And like most, I look more pregnant at the end if the day and my stomach is more bulge-y...hence why this is an evening occurrence.
I am fully aware that this is normal and part of developing a bump but it is causing a minor freak out for me. It is a visible, noticable change for me that is just throwing me off. My mom keeps telling me: " This is normal. What did you think would happen? Just you wait- you have a lot of changes coming your way." Etc.
Thing is- I get it. I knew this would happen, my body would change and my belly button is only going to look more foreign in the coming months as my belly expands. And please understand I (and my hubs) are SO completely overjoyed and happy about this pregnancy. This belly button issue is just weirding me out.
I feel like if someone just looked at me and said: "You're right, your belly button does look different." it would make me feel better. I feel like my weird meltdown is just me maybe adjusting to all these crazy changes?
Can anyone else relate??
Re: Belly Button Freakout
I am not sure why, but it is weirding me out. I know everyone's body is different & every pregnancy is different, but I feel like I shouldn't look this pregnant yet.
I am just starting to look pregnant all day now (as opposed to only getting a bump/blump at night) and it is so weird to catch myself in the mirror when I get out of the shower because I'm just not used to seeing my body look the way it does, now. I also feel like my boobs grew two sizes overnight and it is seriously noticeable, but I am not really loving that change since they're just heavy and annoying.
Totally agree. This is going to sound weird, but I have an oddly deep innie bellybutton so I'm just praying it somehow won't go outtie because of that, lol!

I have a really deep innie too and it hasn't popped with either of my two previous pregnancies!
Edit: quote fail.
Edit for stupid auto correct on my phone

And I HATE people pointing them out to me. I'm not a self conscious person, but dear lord, pregnancy changes has made me one. I hate when people stare at the bump or when they ask if I'm getting stretch marks (whp does that?!)
I would just like to vacation to a private island for the next six months or so and be left alone. That would be wonderful!
^^LOL, this! I had a coworker that I kinda-sorta know but don't talk to often just blatantly stare at me today and so I said something like, "My husband and I are expecting a baby in June" and she says, "Oh, yeah... I could tell you were looking a lot bigger!" Well, gee, thanks lady. *eyeroll*
Yes!!! So weird.
I also still have a hole from where I had my belly button pierced in my younger years. I'm a little freaked out that it might stretch as my belly grows o_O
