I'm so dang anxious and excited at the same time! I'm only 6 weeks and I'm scared they may move me back so I'm worried we won't get to see the heartbeat, but I will know soon! Yay, ready to go!

The 1st appt is exciting. Have you done all of your blood work yet? My very first appt was blood work, lots of paperwork, and then I went home. I didn't see the baby or talk to the doctor. The 2nd appointment (which I now call the real 1st) was when I was able to see the doctor and baby and it was about 2 weeks later.
This is my 1st appt period, no blood work or anything yet. I know they will be doing an ultrasound though because when I scheduled the appt they told me. I've read alot of ppl say that they are supposed to drink alot of water before they go, nobody ever told me that, should I go ahead and drink some anyways?

i had only a half hour to drink it and we saw the baby so i dont know what the whole hour thing is about!! but i would try to drink some...i also had to give a urine sample at appt. so it might be a good idea
i was exactly 6 wk 1day when i went to get my first u/s done and they told me to drink water for the reg u/s and then they did a vaginal one- (i believe they def have to do a vaginal one to see more like heartbeat and such when we are that early)- so maybe they aren't going to do a reg u/s and just do the vaginal one? just a possibility! tell them if you do drink water, just so they know- and if they do a vaginal one, release your bladder before they go in - you may have to pee with them probing around that close to your bladder

sorry don't know if i was clear enough after all that- for a vaginal u/s you don't have to drink water- (and if you do, they will have you empty your bladder first before attemptin) and you typically need a vaginal u/s when you are that early- the doc is prob just doing the vaginal with you.
